billington trio was established in 2005, and counts three musicians who all have studied at Jazzlinja at Trondheim University. During the last three years, the band members have worked together in a number of different bands and combos within several musical styles, but are now putting their strength into this new piano trio with their own material. billington trio takes as its starting point the function-harmonical jazz tradition, with the aim to challenge itself and the audience both artistically and musically. The band aims at bringing something new into the piano trio format, while at the same time being strongly anchored in early jazz traditions, being inspired by artists as Bill Evans Trio, Paul Bley, Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau Trio.
