Way back in 1972 I met a guitar player at a church that was just being started in a hotel in San Diego, California. This guy played Chet Atkins finger picking like I havent heard before. Afterwards I went backstage and asked him to show me how to play that style of picking. From their I began to work at this style of picking day after day until one day I realized that I had began to understand that style. From their I began to listen to John Denver who became my absolute favorite song writer and the rest is history.
