Bill Warrington grew up in Spokane, Washington. At 17, he joined the Navy and while stationed in San Diego at the North Island Naval Air Station in 1976, he saw a retiring Naval Commander, playing a banjo for some kids. Bill knew then that he wanted to be a singer/songwriter. He bought his first guitar that day, learned how to play and wrote his first song shortly after that.
After moving back home to Spokane in 1980, he began working for the Post Office. He continued to write songs and hone his guitar/songwriting skills and rather than going Postal, he bit the bullet in 1989 and moved to Nashville. After getting to town, Bill realized he had a lot of work to do. The writers, singers and players in Nashville are the greatest in the world and in order to work with them, he knew the bar was high.
After working hard for many years, and learning from successful writers like Jack Keller, Jon Ims and Patti Ryan, he went on to write with great writers, such as; Gerald Smith, Thom Shepherd, Dave Gibson, Patti Ryan, Bryan Cumming, Bob Feldman, Marty Hansen (aka Professor Marty), Tom Manning, Marci Salyer and Donna DeSopo, Julie Taylor, Luther Lewis. His songs have been recorded by Sue James, Sarah Hoffman, The Readings, Queenie Mullinix, Gerald Smith and Marci Salyer.
He has won the Most Promising Male Award for 2004 - Songwriter of the Year Award 2005 and Co Writer of the Year Award 2006 which he won with his friend Joan Walker from the Tennessee Songwriters Association International.
Just recently, I have recorded a song, a solider's tribute to the Statue of Liberty as an icon representing all that he goes to war to fight for. The name of the song is JADED LADY and I co-wrote it with my dear friend and rock and roll recording artist Sherri Mullen.
