222 Sound Studios was founded by Barry Patrick Cavanagh JR a.k.a. BILLY in 2004. Barry started his prestigious music career at a young age. He quickly mastered the guitar, bass, piano and then moved on to master vocals. After which he went on to learn the art of Recording Engineering, receiving his certificate in 1990.
He than moved to British Columbia to study music at the credited Kwantlan College in Langley, where he majored in opera. After staying in British Columbia for two years he decided to move back to Saskatoon, where he met Jake Toso.
Jake was a talented up and coming DJ in the underground rave scene, where he introduced Barry to all kinds of new music. Barry, not formally being a fan of electronic music, quickly fell in love with these new sounds, after all his ear was accustomed to hearing great art. At this point this is where the madness all started.
Barry bought the Roland Mc 505 and began to create an amazing computer-recording rig. He experimented in Trance, House, Nu Energy, but found his love in Drum and Bass. He released a few CD’s under the names, that if you haven’t heard of you should check out, Eyes, Indobhang and finally settling on his long term nickname Billy. Under his previous names he released such CD’s as, Eyes "Hemp is Not a Drug", Indobhang "Ek Ong Kar" and "Gemini", and Billy "BillyEP" and "It Didn’t Come Up".
Two things every performance artist wants to have yet remain elusive for most: passion and energy. In the electronica genre, most can capture the energy but fall short on the passion part of the equation. This criticism has never befallen Barry . For those fans that have had the opportunity to watch him live, or have just been in the same room with him for more than two minutes, one word comes instantly to mind…INSANITY.
