It's fun for me to wear the many hats that've been popular within American music. I get a kick out of bringing songs to life that many artists won't touch... like "Mac the Knife" or "Look at Us" I play a variety of guitars to achieve the many textures that the original artists used to present their songs... for instance... Ricky Nelson used a Gibson ES 175 to play the part on "Lonesome Town" ... so I do as well. That, for me, is taking the extra effort and investment to "get the listener there"
Billy Farmer is a local musician and guitar teacher. He resides in Tacoma but has lived all over. He's a very accomplished guitar player and plays shows frequently. He plays in several groups, and does solo's. His musical style varies from country to rock to blues. He also does covers of a wide array of bands and musicians.
He teaches guitar to young people all over the western Washington area, going to them if they can't make it to him. He also does volunteer house painting in the summer time with 'Paint Tacoma-Pierce Beautiful'.
