Billy Gomberg's alpha-state inducing electronic explorations fascinate as they calm. Slowly shifting patterns and textures, wisps of melody and tonality, benevolently throbbing bass dissonance, and glittering bursts of energy unfold around the listener, lulling but not necessarily pacifying. Gomberg's meandering improvisations become captivating because of his unique command of his tools, the depth of his palette, his sensitivity to mood, and his daring, tempered by constant attention to visceral feeling.
I was born in Chicago. I live in Brooklyn. I perform solo, in duo w/Anne Guthrie (as Fraufraulein), Jason Z Moore (as Flavour), trio w/Anne Guthrie & Richard Kamerman (as Delicate Sen), duo w/Richard Kamerman, duo w/Garth Stevenson, and also on occasion w/Reed Rosenberg, Jeremiah Cymerman, and Tom Blancarte.
