  • Bio

Like a zombie without enough sense to know it’s dead, Oklahoma City/Tulsa rockers Billy Joe Winghead have been crisscrossing the nation for the last decade trying to figure out why every soundman in America wants them to turn down. An artless mix of Fender twang, Gibson crunch and theremin wail, BJW is determined not to rest until every punk club, bowling alley and lowbrow festival on the map has either asked them to headline or never to return. Look for the new BJW album “Dark Ride”, slated for release on Zodiac Killer Records and soon available on eBay for three cents a copy…… WHAT THE PEOPLE ARE SAYING: "..the world of diesel fumes and danger...a cinematic experience between "You Only Live Twice" and "Straight To Hell."- Tulsa World "..wallows in trash chords and cheeky rebellion somewhere between the Cramps and Echo & the Bunnymen"- Austin Chronicle "..A deep-fried, Spam-Pop eatin' joyride of the highest order" - Oklahoma Gazette "You can't sleep on the picnic tables!"- Missouri rest stop attendant "..A musical OK Corral directed by Sergio Leone."-Parabrisas “They’re so creepy….I love it!”- Some chick at SXSW "...Link Wray on acid jamming with The Butthole Surfers"- The Beatin' Edge

So... Today is the big day we've been working toward for about 3 months now. The Fine Print is hosting the first ever Collide! art/music show at The 51st Street Speakeasy. Doors open at 3:00pm. Music starts at 4:00pm. The entire upstairs is filled with amazing artwork on display, exclusively from artists right here in Oklahoma. Coop Works will have some beer to try out, and The Speakeasy will have free food available throughout the day. Come stop by and have some fun with us tonight. Let's start something new for OKC together... Collide!
