It has been said that Billy Mitchell's music is like a trip to Key West via "The Twilight Zone"; Great fun, full of musical surprises.
His original songs are inspired by the free spirit of Jimmy Buffett, the wit of Shel Silverstein, the eccentricity of John Prine with a dash of Spike Jones thrown in for good measure. His songs have been recorded on three CDs: "What's so Bad about Feelin'Good?" (Ark Albums),"Gumbo Beach"(with New York Minute) and "The Diva of the Silver Top Diner".
He is a published ASCAP songwriter, member of the Nashville Songwriters Association and Rhode Island Songwriters Association. His catalog of over 40 original songs is represented in Nashville by Springbarrel Songwriter Services.
