In 2000, Billy Oskay opened Big Red Studio with one goal in mind: to provide a great sounding studio in an inspiring environment where artists could enjoy creating their music. Emphasis would be on recording acoustic music.
Today, Big Red Studio is going strong, producing big, warm, eclectic recordings for a wide variety of artists. Billy's years of experience as a professional musician, combined with a meticulously built studio, top notch gear , and an experienced staff easily make Big Red one of the Pacific Northwest's top recording facilities.
We are not exactly luddites here, although we still love analog recording. That's changing, however, as more independent engineers and producers work here with the ProTools HD rig. And hybrid projects: basic tracks on the 2 inch Studer synched to overdubs on Protools are getting more common.

The mastering (final polish) for Anne Weiss's new CD, "Concrete World and the Lover's Dream", was expertly done at Nick Moon's new Tone Proper Mastering, and it sounds great!
Nick and Big Red's Billyo were happy to attend Anne Weiss's CD release concert, performed to a sold out audience at Portland's Clinton Street Theater. She gathered almost all the musicians who played on her project and it was wonderful to hear the arrangements (carefully brought to focus in the studio) come alive!
How's life up in Corbett treating you? I must say I'm really missing living up there. It was a great experience, and I can't thank you enough! Sorry I didn't get back to you a while back. I would have loved to come up and check out that session, but I was already pretty busy back here in Corvallis. Anyway, I hope you and the family are doing well. Have a great week!
-Matt
Oh! I didn't tell you yet, but I sold one of my instrumental tunes to Richard Moore over at Tag Team! They're using it in a video for Saw Stop. That was very exciting for me!
thanks for the add - and by the way, I like your analog-oriented modus operendi. It's true that you can't avoid the digital these days, but at least you can keep the analog stuff involved as much as possible! Keep up the good work!
Hey There, Looks like we have some friends in common. Where is Corbett? Thanks for stopping by and friending up. Wishing you the best. Cassidy with the Ladyz
Hi Billy. How are you? We are planning to make another recording in the fall so we should come visit you. I'll get in touch. Thanks so much for finding us!!
Hey Billy, I hope this finds you well. Lovely site here, brings back fond memories of our sessions in your studio. I hope you are thriving and always feeling inspired. Blessings, tg
