This is A FAN SITE. Not Billy's Official Site but from a fan. This site is dedicated to what is likely the greatest pianist in rock history that crossed to join his Frynds on January 28th, 2009.
Billy Powell, of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Billy was one of the cowriters of the original material known to all that became the classic sound the world knows as SKYNYRD. A survivor of the 1977 plane crash that took the lives of Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, and road manager Dean Kilpatrick and the pilots, has gone on to tribute his friends with his piano playing excellence that was a main feature of the Lynyrd Skynyrd sound.

Exactly one year ago from tonight was the last time we hung out together. I miss you more than words can say . . . . I'll never forget you. You were my buddy Billy.... RIP my dear friend.

Although we are young. We were lucky enough to get to see Billy and Skynyrd twice. I feel very fortunate to have had the chance to see one of the legends of southern rock!
Billy Powell was the BEST, I'm sorry but NO one can EVER take his place, Just not the same, It's going to be really diff. on that cruise this year.. Billy is VERY VERY missed and loved.. Love always and fan always!!
