Billy The Rebel is a fast and different style band using influences from Horror, Gore, Zombies, 50's Rock and Roll, Thrashing Metal and Crazy Punk. Our song's are about a certain character called "Billy Rebel" who meet various monsters, ghouls and weird creatures.
During the short time we have been together we have developed a loyal fan base of all ages and musical interests. Billy The Rebel have played over 80 shows in a multitude of different types of venues from more intimate establishments such as the 12 Bar Club (Soho, London) to the Ministry of Sound, Festivals and headlining shows over a weekend at the Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, playing to 10,000 people. We have supported all kinds of bands from Hola Ghost (featuring Pete1 from Mad Sin) to Amen , and from Anti-Kid to the Jive Aces.
In a short time we have published our first e.p. “The Twisted Tales of Billy Rebel” which sold successfully at shows, Virgin Megastores, HMV which have now sold out. We have had over 90,000 plays on our myspace and we are currently working on a full length album. We feel we merge the excitement and presence of a stage show with the skill and professionalism of a live musical experience making each event exciting and enjoyable for all ages.
We are very dedicated to what we do and are looking to progress even further in 2008
Matt and Ash kept putting off getting a band together as they both had other things to do but still jammed on their guitars with no hope of a band. Then one day it struck us the type of music we should be doing, and to show the local scene what else is out there.
Playing around on our strummers and slappers with a million ideas in our head, all we needed was smacker.
With all our looking we got a myspace add from Mr Grave, that was into the same stuff and had the same twisted ideas as us.
After a few practices we came to a big problem, the hardest thing was playing along to the synths and spooky bits and its was too bloody hard, we knew we need an additional member to the rebel family so we brought a Joe Phantom to the gallows.
