After hearing Billy Ryan sing one time, you’ll not be surprised to know that this twenty two year old from Boaz,
Alabama was born into a musical family and simply has music in his blood. His dad, Bob Droze, a country
singer himself, encouraged Billy early on and it didn’t take the kid long to know that singing was what he
wanted to do more than anything. As a teenager he would perform anywhere, at anytime for anyone who
would listen. If he couldn’t get somebody to take him to a gig, Billy would walk for miles, carrying his guitar
down the country roads of Alabama to play. Some of his happiest moments as a child were singing gospel
with his Dad. One of the first song’s he can remember singing was “Old Rugged Cross”. From there he gained
a deep interest in music, developing a style that is none other than his own – pure, soulful and true. He says
his early passion for those good ole’ gospel songs, plus his love of bluegrass and traditional country music are
what have brought him to where he is today.
After several trips back and forth, Billy
finally made the move to Nashville where
he has been “paying his dues” as a
performer. It looks as though those dues
are paying off. Billy has been working
with RCA records Nashville. Also has
been featured in several magazines and
his music has been heard on radio all over
the world. He has been writing for Billy
Yates’ Smokin’ Grapes Publishing and
he also writes for B-rad Music Publishing.
Billy recently went in the studio with
power-house producer, Mark Bright to
record a new album.
In addition to all that Billy has acquired
cut’s on such artist like “DARRYL WORLEY
(You Never Know), BILLY YATES (That’s
Why I Run, Happy), MARTY RAYBON
– from the group Shenandoah (Going
Through Hell To Get There) and many
more to come. He also tours extensively with country music super
group SHENANDOAH. “I am genuinely blessed and I thank God
everyday for all the good people he has put in my life”, says Billy.
“I know I am nothing without the talent God gave me”.
Talent truly is the key word. You won’t believe your ears when you
hear Billy Ryan sing. You’ll have to agree that you’ve never heard
anything like it before. Billy Ryan is one talent worth watching.
In August and September of 2009 Billy will be making his debut
tour in Europe with the reigning European “Country Band of the
Year” The Rowers. Billy and The Rowers will be headlining major
country festivals in France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland,
Slovakia, Lithuania and Hungary.
