Billy Wassung was born a musician. Growing up, he was surrounded by a large family with great musical talent. Through playing Beatles songs and other classic rock tunes, his family taught him the importance of harmony and melody. As Billy grew up, he became the leader of family jam sessions by introducing songs of his own. After being in several bands throughout the past 11 years, Wassung found himself wanting to step out to do his own thing.
Billy Wassung is a solo artist working with a band of local studio musicians and friends compiled during the making of his debut solo album. His music is subtle yet deep with a Neil Young /singer/songwriter approach that rocks with positively. With his will to write songs from the heart, his music can relate on a personal level to each and every listener.
His debut album “Is Me” flows with both harmony and progression creating a beautiful well-rounded piece of music. “Is Me” is a sharp, concise and soulful departure from Wassung’s work with former Midwest touring act Big Metal Rooster.
