after leaving an important meeting in a bedroom in barton street gloucester i decidedto pop intothe brunswick pubin the city on friday night.billy whizz were setting up.when a drummer forgets his sticks he must improvise, two rolled up yellow pages seemed to do the trick.the band were ready, the pub full to bursting but young whizzers not allowed in due to the strict rules in the city that says you must carry knives or be a threat to others .whizz started off witha cover version of jons favorite song ,chasing pavements.after a few of the usual footappers they did a few songs in fluent welsh, including, how green was my armpits.a great set.wanting to play first so they could start drinking early.then came on sister sandwich ,apparently first time playing past the clee hill they did a two hour set of all original songs .the singer pete panini dressed as a cheese and onion sandwich with branston pickle dropping occasionally on the stage ruled the fans from harry tuffins superstore.a good looking man in his mid twenties took his top off and started doing a traditional polish dance.the crowd were going mad ,sorry, they were just going but i stayed till the endand got on one of the convoy of whizz coaches back to ledbury.a great night.
