    B-Independent.com's Interests
MusicMy musical tastes never really progressed out of the 80's and 90's U.K. scene. Usually you can find me listening to U2, JESUS JONES, MANIC STREET PREACHERS, PUBLIC IMAGE Ltd., COLDPLAY, REMY ZERO, DEPECHE MODE, ERASURE, THE CLASH, THE SEX PISTOLS, SIMPLE MINDS, DURAN DURAN, SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES, JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, MAZZY STAR, THE SOUP DRAGONS, RIDE, PRIMAL SCREAM, MY BLOODY VALENTINE, HOUSE OF LOVE, SUPREME LOVE GODS, SUNSCREAM, FATBOY SLIM, THE CURE, LOVE AND ROCKETS, and a ton of other U.K. bands, but I can listen to anything. . It all depends on the mood I'm in. Sadly, I not as into music as I once was.

When I need to mix things up I go to SOCIAL DISTORTION, THE PIXIES, BOB MARLEY, JOHNNY CASH, AC/DC, R.E.M., INXS, BECK, THE BEASTIE BOYS, BOB SEGAR, and TOM JONES. That's right, THE Tom Jones. That spry 70 year old lounge lizard puts on one hell of a concert (and yes, women still throw panties up on stage).

If any of this interests you, feel free to swing by my Yahoo LaunchCast page. Let me know what you think.

MoviesFavorites include:

CHUNGKING EXPRESS - Probably my favorite film
SILENCE OF THE LAMBS - the most perfect film in contemporary American cinema
THE SEARCHERS - Movies don't get much better than this John Ford/John Wayne classic on which I learned how to watch movies
THE PALM BEACH STORY - I envy any person enjoying the pleasure of watching a Preston Sturgess film for the first time
REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE - Just as powerful 50 years later,
AUDITION and VISITOR Q - Two films from Japanese master Takashi Miike that illustrate his both diversity and obsession with pervers themes
FERRIS BEULLER'S DAY OFF - John Hughes is an auteur
STREETWISE - One of a handful of films to ever reduce me to tears,
POLICE FORCE - Jackie Chan has never topped this action masterpiece
THE WILD BUNCH - I used to this this was the greatest Western ever made until I rewatched this and THE SEARCHERS back to back, now I"m torn
THE EVIL DEAD - The only movie to ever scare the living piss out of me

For a more indepth look into what I'm about, check out my vast number of screening lists at my Netflix Profile, most of which showcase microbuget, fringe, and classic cinema.

TelevisionWith DEADWOOD and THE SOPRANOS over, I thought I wouldn't me watching much of anything on tv this year. As much as I hate to say it, I'm watching more TV then ever.

Sunday: WEEDS, DEXTER
Monday: CHUCK, HEROES
Tuesday: BONES, REAPER
Wed: PUSHING DAISIES, THE BIONIC WOMAN, LIFE
Thurs: MY NAME IS EARL, CSI
Friday: Bill Maher

My favorite of the season is PUSHING DAISIES, by far. The only times I enjoyed a show as much were during the first seasons of HEROES and LOST, and the entire run of DEADWOOD.

BooksI read anything by Joe R. Lansdale, Ed Gorman, Nancy Collins, Norman Partridge, Nina Kiriki Hoffman, Greg Rucka, and Neal Barrett Jr.

My favs from each author would be:

Cold in July - Lansdale
Cage of Night - Gorman
Sunglasses After Dark - Collins
Wildest Dreams - Partridge
The Thread that Binds the Bones - Hoffman
Critical Space - Rucka
Skinny Annie Blues - Barrett Jr.

Currently reading Big Rock Beat by Greg Kihn, and The Purpose Driven Life.

"THE INCREDIBLE BLEEDING MAN" TITLE ROLE:

I am looking for a local New Jersey guy in his early 20s to play the title role in one of the stories for my new cable access show.

The story is "The Incredible Bleeding Man" (a comedy) and the person will have to be OK with being covered in fake blood.

The guy should be an eccentric nutcase. Funny with a personality. UNCONVENTIONAL looking in any way might help. Around 6 feet tall and skinny and able to look insane and like a total mess, yet not intimidating. Maybe a WANNA-BE rock star type, but young enough to still be a bit naive/innocent and unaware what is going on around him. The role requires somebody who has a SPARK in his personality more than being a serious actor. He should have presence.

I am hoping that a singer in a rock band might have a weird funny nephew for the role. Somebody from an eccentric family!

There is no pay as cable access is free, but it will be shown all over NJ and in New York City. Copy will be provided.

Please email here if you are interested and fit the role:

TWO FEMALE ROLES AVAILABLE FOR "THE INCREDIBLE BLEEDING MAN" SHORT STORY.

NON UNION/NON PAYING

Will be seen all over New Jersey and in NYC. Copy will be provided.

It will be shot on or around Saturday June 6, 2009 in Central New Jersey locations.

CHEAP JERSEY VIDEO is looking for 2 female models/actresses for small roles in an episode of its new cable access show.

---------------------------------------------------

DETAILS:

I am looking for 2 very pretty and thin local NEW JERSEY/NYC/PHILLY models/actresses to play two small roles in one of the stories for my new cable access show.

The story is "The Incredible Bleeding Man" (a comedy) and it helps if the actresses understand campy humor as in Barbarella (1968) and the 1960s Batman TV show starring Adam West.

One role is an artist (sketch artist?) in the park. This will require a very pretty 18-22 year old female who looks innocent, but can do an annoying voice. 5' 5" tall or less if possible.

The other role will be that of a sexy nurse, very tall who will wear a ridiculously short nurse outfit. This will require a glamourous very beautiful thin 25-30 year old female, 5' 9" or taller, who can act selfish. Ability to do a Central Europe or Eastern Europe accent would be a big plus!

There is no pay as cable access is free, but it will be shown all over NJ and in New York City. Copy will be provided.

Please email here if you are interested and fit either of the roles:
