    B-Independent.com's Interests
MusicMy musical tastes never really progressed out of the 80's and 90's U.K. scene. Usually you can find me listening to U2, JESUS JONES, MANIC STREET PREACHERS, PUBLIC IMAGE Ltd., COLDPLAY, REMY ZERO, DEPECHE MODE, ERASURE, THE CLASH, THE SEX PISTOLS, SIMPLE MINDS, DURAN DURAN, SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES, JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, MAZZY STAR, THE SOUP DRAGONS, RIDE, PRIMAL SCREAM, MY BLOODY VALENTINE, HOUSE OF LOVE, SUPREME LOVE GODS, SUNSCREAM, FATBOY SLIM, THE CURE, LOVE AND ROCKETS, and a ton of other U.K. bands, but I can listen to anything. . It all depends on the mood I'm in. Sadly, I not as into music as I once was.

When I need to mix things up I go to SOCIAL DISTORTION, THE PIXIES, BOB MARLEY, JOHNNY CASH, AC/DC, R.E.M., INXS, BECK, THE BEASTIE BOYS, BOB SEGAR, and TOM JONES. That's right, THE Tom Jones. That spry 70 year old lounge lizard puts on one hell of a concert (and yes, women still throw panties up on stage).

If any of this interests you, feel free to swing by my Yahoo LaunchCast page. Let me know what you think.

MoviesFavorites include:

CHUNGKING EXPRESS - Probably my favorite film
SILENCE OF THE LAMBS - the most perfect film in contemporary American cinema
THE SEARCHERS - Movies don't get much better than this John Ford/John Wayne classic on which I learned how to watch movies
THE PALM BEACH STORY - I envy any person enjoying the pleasure of watching a Preston Sturgess film for the first time
REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE - Just as powerful 50 years later,
AUDITION and VISITOR Q - Two films from Japanese master Takashi Miike that illustrate his both diversity and obsession with pervers themes
FERRIS BEULLER'S DAY OFF - John Hughes is an auteur
STREETWISE - One of a handful of films to ever reduce me to tears,
POLICE FORCE - Jackie Chan has never topped this action masterpiece
THE WILD BUNCH - I used to this this was the greatest Western ever made until I rewatched this and THE SEARCHERS back to back, now I"m torn
THE EVIL DEAD - The only movie to ever scare the living piss out of me

For a more indepth look into what I'm about, check out my vast number of screening lists at my Netflix Profile, most of which showcase microbuget, fringe, and classic cinema.

TelevisionWith DEADWOOD and THE SOPRANOS over, I thought I wouldn't me watching much of anything on tv this year. As much as I hate to say it, I'm watching more TV then ever.

Sunday: WEEDS, DEXTER
Monday: CHUCK, HEROES
Tuesday: BONES, REAPER
Wed: PUSHING DAISIES, THE BIONIC WOMAN, LIFE
Thurs: MY NAME IS EARL, CSI
Friday: Bill Maher

My favorite of the season is PUSHING DAISIES, by far. The only times I enjoyed a show as much were during the first seasons of HEROES and LOST, and the entire run of DEADWOOD.

BooksI read anything by Joe R. Lansdale, Ed Gorman, Nancy Collins, Norman Partridge, Nina Kiriki Hoffman, Greg Rucka, and Neal Barrett Jr.

My favs from each author would be:

Cold in July - Lansdale
Cage of Night - Gorman
Sunglasses After Dark - Collins
Wildest Dreams - Partridge
The Thread that Binds the Bones - Hoffman
Critical Space - Rucka
Skinny Annie Blues - Barrett Jr.

Currently reading Big Rock Beat by Greg Kihn, and The Purpose Driven Life.

Anyone involved in the film and video making process, from actors to camera operators to screen writers. Everyone is welcome to network on the B-Independent.com forums, still the best place for fans and filmmakers to share their appreciation of ultra-independent cinema.

I'm especially interested in networking with those in the DC, MD, and VA metro area. Feel free to join the local area Film Collective here on MySpace.

Do me a favor, if you don't have anything to say in the comments section, please don't leave one. I delete messages that are nothing more than spam. Save us both some time on that one. SPAMMING ISN'T NETWORKING.

If you want to get the word out about your projects, join the B-Independent Banner Exchange.

While you're there, be sure to use the site's other functions: The Links Database and The Forums if you're looking to get the word out and network.

You asked for an introduction...

My main hobby is storytelling in audiovisual media -- mostly movies and animation.

I'm currently in "perpetual postproduction" on my first movie, a sci-fi, farcical short called Astronuts. For more info, check out http://www.shoestringscifi.com.

S4 The Movie

Jun 27 2008 4:53 PM

Hey, thanks for the add!

as far as introducing ourselves, OUTCAST THEATRE is a group of actors, writers, and directors in Las Vegas who came together under the banner of cheap movies that entertain the living shit out of people.

our current film, S4, is an homage to 1950's sci-fi horror. we shot it in two weeks on a ridiculously small budget and ended up with a great product that is a LOT of fun. It will be available this fall.

thanks for your time, and be sure to check our trailer on our page. You can also check out our show
"The Blue Room" at blueroomshow.com
