An evergoing project, Binnacle (former L.o.S.) has been very tough to piece together. so hard in fact, that we're still not finished. Since midway through 2004 Singer/Guitarist Jan Vega and lead guitarist Sean Maldonado decided to add some musical elements to the recently-born friendship. Since then (when the band was briefly named Tabana) the duo have spent countless hours listening to songs and working together to piece individual songs based on varied influences to create a unique experimental metal sound. A temporary piece for the eternal puzzle, came to the band just a week before the end of the year 2005 through drummer Arnaldo Pacheco, who's awe inspiring drum skills were provided to us for a brief, albeit satisfying, period of time by a close friend of the band. Last but not least, bassist Carib Toledo who had been playing guitar for 3 years, was more than willing (after a few shots of JD) to put down the guitar, pick up the bass and start throwing some much needed bass lines our way until the tragic decline of the band some time after our first presentation ever, brought on by the departure of Arnaldo...
Now, a band known for their unique sense of musicallity by friends and casual listeners alike, continues under a new name, a new identity and, under the guidance of founding members Sean and Jan, the recruitment of a new team of work. What direction awaits within this Binnacle can only be left to destiny...
