Punk, bluegrass, indy/ brit rock, chill out, latin, rock, blues, metal, raggae, ska, etc maybe electronic/industrial/techno/house in the smallest and most discerning of quantities, and pretty much any conceivable mix of the aforementioned. So basically everything that doesn't twang or honkey tonk with new country flair- Live random stuff from around town because there is a lot of serious talent in this city!
Movies
Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter, Dumb and Dumber, Braincandy, 28 Days Later, Fight Club, Shawn of the Dead, Apocalypto, The Princess Bride, Motorcycle Diaries, Secretary, Woman on Top, Groundhog's Day, Sin Noticias de Dios, Orfeu, Dogma, Strictly Ballroom, Austin Powers, Amelie, O Homme Que Copiava, Babel, Mal Educacion (Bad Education), The Wedding Singer, Children of Men, City of God, Slumdog Millionaire, Sunshine, The Birdcage, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Snakes on a Plane (it is, afterall, the best worst movie ever!) quirky comedies, dark humor, classic B-horror, foreign & indie films rock!-
Lest we forget PORN and made-for-tv bible story movies!....
Television
Don't watch much actual tv - the internet has changed that. Travel and Discovery channels, NPR's This American Life, Anthony Bourdain:No Reservations, The Office (and other BBC comedies like THE IT CROWD)-- Flight of the Conchords, Pushing Daisies, United States of Tara, Chuck, Ugly Betty and Arrested Development.
Love weird dark comedies that surface occasionally, but if they're good they get canceled because not enough people understand the genius behind them.
Pretty much anything that has ever been on Adult Swim.
Books
I'm eyeballing 'Dune' or one of the many other classics I was supposed to have read in school but just faked my way through a book report instead. Currently on "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (I know, I know... I haven't seen the movie either- gimmie a break)
Emily introduced me to the most messed-up comics ever created, Invader Zim/ Johnny the homicidal maniac/ Squee... among others- they give me nightmares and I thank her for that.

Turn Offs:
wimpy handshakes, angry drunks, whiners, low rise jeans paired with a thong, foods that are probably healthy but questionably edible like currants, water chestnuts, radishes, beets or anything that tastes like black licorice, bad fake boobs, ignorance and last but not least the jazz flute....

It's said that when holding a civilized conversation it's quite black and white. There is a line that you do not cross when speaking of certain questionable subject matter. Let it go on record that I have no idea where that line is and everything is one giant grey area. It's often commented that the Olson sisters are not known for their tact. Uh, yeah... That's about right.
Who I'd like to meet: Random people who are cool, not lame. Cuz if they're lame, then they whine and get all depressed about it which will make them want to drink and because they're lame they will, of course, drink way too much, then they get all belligerent and annoying and then I have to bitch-slap them in front of a crowded bar and I don't like doing that, so no lame people.
Hey bioBETHanol, If you aren't listening to any music right now, maybe grab a cold one and drink with the Knuckleheads on Biker.FM. We finally produced some killer shows with LIVE hosts and a bunch of videos featuring Babes and Bikes and some other twisted stuff. We also added some cameras to the studio. That way when you do come around, we'll drink along with yah. Stop in and party anytime. Total respect, GC Biker.FM
Also, if you've got something you want sold to the Biker community, we can get it sold. Sponsorship programs from 25 bucks a month, which is dang cheap. If you want to, you can send us your email address, and we'll send you a media kit, and then some sales. However we can help a brother or sister out, you know we will. This Biker.FM stuff is all about you.
Hi Beth, ouch! did you hurt it playing kickball? I was thinking about you guys, it looked fun checked out the myspace page for kickball. Yeah with this insane heat I was thinking about not doing the bike brigade either. I got a sore throat for a few days, feeling a bit better now. I think the heat will take away from the fun. I admit I'm a big baby when it comes to being uncomfortable. Maybe if there is any night time bike rides seems up my alley. Feel better.
Sounds like fun :) Around what time would you want to go? It would be good to have someone with some mad rolller derby skills to fight the regulars for the good stuff.
Yeah the goodwill bins is our life, we go to the one in hillsboro mostly a little less drama and agressive people. Always up to going. I'm going on sunday to the hillsboro one but open to going to the millwaukie one too.
killer page you got there, thank you for the supportive comments. Its nice to know someone else is willing to take time out of their day to clean up what some other dumb fucker ruined for the rest of us. Hope all is well. How was your independence day? -Aaron
40%????!!! I'm very disapointed in you Beth! The "I'm 26" thing is something Ellen's always making fun of me about. Back when I was cruisin' the net looking for love (haha) I found that I had better luck if I said I was 26 (go figure). Funny, in a creepy sort of way. :D
Shit, we play on Saturdays now! That sucks we missed you! I appreciate the sainthood. Gotta keep kickball alive, ya know. And I love to write, so I'm actually doing the myspace postings for selfish reasons. But don't tell anyone.
