About me:
The purpose of the Biomedical Sciences unit is to promote interest, skills and competitiveness of our STEM students in biomedical research. The students will move to more advanced level and ultimately be successful in attaining graduate degrees.
Proposed Activities:
Recruit and engage students in biomedical research in faculty mentors lab
Train students through workshops, meetings and courses
Establish visiting scientist seminars
Develop on- and off-campus summer research activities through internships
Provide support for graduate school admission
Tours of health professional schools, recruiter visits, seminars featuring health care professionals, entrance exam preparation, shadowing/internship, opportunities, summer enrichment/biomedical research programs, development of academic programs of study for specific pre-professional programs, Pre-Health Club, development/distribution of health careers literature
