Bionic Fonzy is predominantly a Rockabilly band. After years of playing bars throughout Northern Michigan, we're able to mix in a few "favorites" but with a Rockabilly twist. We differentiate ourselves in a mundane market of Rock, Hard Rock and Classic Rock with straight forward guitar, an upright bass and the snappy drum beat of Rockabilly.
That's awesome news! Fall is the best time to start woodshedding with bands around here, so that you're all tight and have enough material ready for the busy summer season. Musicians as good as you guys NOT working toward this right now would be a damned SHAME!...
Hey! It's always great coming up to spend the weekend with Bob and Dora and getting the chance to see y'all play! Thanks for the great time this past weekend! We look forward to seeing y'all again soon!
Great, WORTHY job at the Tailgate Pub Saturday (and Deb thought so, too!).
You oughta try Foghat's take on the old Willie Dixon song "I Just Wanna Make Love To You". It has all of the Bionic Fonzy staples: Catchy as hell, old cool blues song, opportunity for call/reponse bits between guitar and harmonica (if arranged right), familiar but not TOO familiar so it's not "tired", "howlly" vocals, tongue-in-cheek humor lyrics (,and Twitch oughta like the cool bass-only intro!).
Professor Gene is giving you a homework assignment!...
Thanx for following the link and reading my blog rant...
Agreed, with what you say, too. I want to make clear that my gripe isn't with the musicians; I've got no problem with talented artists that work hard and make great product getting their due. My problem is more with the venues. Entertainment is supposed to be new, changing, fickle, and novel by its nature, but in Petoskey it's just completely upside-down from this. It's pretty bizarre; I had an easier time breaking into Mackinac Island, and they hire the best musicians in a three-state area, but I can't even find a crack to stick a crowbar in to pry open Petoskey's music scene; The word is CA-LOSED!...
I see you're going to play Tailgate Pub later on. I'll try to make that one!
