We want to thank everyone that has supported us thus far. If you've seen us you know how hard it is to describe what we do. If you haven't seen us, we encourage you to come out to see a show. It's a hell of a lot easier than me trying to explain what we sound like. And a lot more fun.
We are Bionic Fonzy, featuring Brian formerly of Phyklone66 and Blacktop Fury, Dave (Dad) from Bozz Hogg, myself, Twitch of Sofa Kings and Trevor Smela. Trevor "Sasquatch" Smela is the newest and youngest member of the Bionic Fonzy family. He did a hell of a job stepping in on such short notice and is a welcome addition to the band.
If you want to make a contribution to the Swear Jar, we do accept cash, checks and money orders. All proceeds will go toward our insurance deductibles.
One of our Favorite Bars, Check out the Ugly Bar & Grill in Vanderbilt. If you're not fortunate enough to catch us there at least stop in for the food.
Hey! It's always great coming up to spend the weekend with Bob and Dora and getting the chance to see y'all play! Thanks for the great time this past weekend! We look forward to seeing y'all again soon!
Great, WORTHY job at the Tailgate Pub Saturday (and Deb thought so, too!).
You oughta try Foghat's take on the old Willie Dixon song "I Just Wanna Make Love To You". It has all of the Bionic Fonzy staples: Catchy as hell, old cool blues song, opportunity for call/reponse bits between guitar and harmonica (if arranged right), familiar but not TOO familiar so it's not "tired", "howlly" vocals, tongue-in-cheek humor lyrics (,and Twitch oughta like the cool bass-only intro!).
Professor Gene is giving you a homework assignment!...
Thanx for following the link and reading my blog rant...
Agreed, with what you say, too. I want to make clear that my gripe isn't with the musicians; I've got no problem with talented artists that work hard and make great product getting their due. My problem is more with the venues. Entertainment is supposed to be new, changing, fickle, and novel by its nature, but in Petoskey it's just completely upside-down from this. It's pretty bizarre; I had an easier time breaking into Mackinac Island, and they hire the best musicians in a three-state area, but I can't even find a crack to stick a crowbar in to pry open Petoskey's music scene; The word is CA-LOSED!...
I see you're going to play Tailgate Pub later on. I'll try to make that one!
And thanks for being so accommodating to that goofy old guy strutting to Fulsome Prison Blues onstage, and collab-ing with me, later on. All the adversity makes for quite a rollercoaster ride, don't it?...
I got to chat with the owner of Breaker's (which I put in a plug for you, BTW, and he says he's keeping you in mind for gigs). He's looking at kicking up Open Mics in October, but nothing definite. I'll try to keep ya hip.
You're appearance at Open Mic was incredible, as usual!
Next one is August 19, if this is your twisted idea of a good time (and I think it is!...).
This is the last scheduled one for the summer, but these have been going down so well that I suspect there'll be some more in some capacity. In my negosh's with the owner of Breaker's, coming soon, I'll get in a mention that you should be hired there for gigs!
Looks like even MORE are expected next August 5. You're probably tired of playing, but come out as individual observers and fellow music geeks, if ya like! You playing is ALWAYS welcome, of course!
Got some solided-up news having to do with Open Mics at Breaker's this summer if you care. I don't feel like typing it again; Go to my MS page to see the deal...
While I'm here, I stumbled on a graphic "Dad" might like! :
You guys sure are getting a rising name in the area! And since I've seen you play, I know it's deserved!
Hope to pop in on one of your gigs. Yeah, you hear that a lot from other musicians, but I'm the kind that actually means it; You'll see!...
Looks like Breaker's is going to kick up Open Mics every summer Sunday evening, starting July 1. I'm hosting every OTHER one, starting with July 8. I usually only like hosting in the winter when solo gigs are practically non-existant around here, but I like Breaker's and it IS fun, and it's only every other week for me, so, what the hell...
