The meeting of two musicians with opposite music styles, fitting together perfectly, describes the founding members of BipolarJ. Their music is a unique brand of hard rock. James Black and James G., a.k.a. Bipolar Billy, met very early one morning at one of Jersey Citys now legendary 111 arts building parties in July of 2004.
The additions of R.J Martin on bass and Kris Suarez on drums completed the band. The music of BipolarJ has been well received, sparking interest and turning ears wherever heard. And so, the two James, along with R.J and Kris, continue experimenting, performing, producing, and breathing life into the incarnation that is BipolarJ.
BipolarJ has performed at several of New York's top Rock Clubs, including: Kenny's Castaways, CBGB, Knitting Factory, Warsaw, Don Hill's, Ace of Clubs (formerly Acme Underground), Coda, Maxwell's of Hoboken, Lion's Den, and more...

We have shared each other’s gladness, And wept each other’s tears.”

LEGACY OF PROMISE
My thoughts travel, journeying beyond this page
Children of my youth, grandchildren beyond my age
My heart is weeping, for the struggling of your day
Threatening bipolar, a family burden from yesterday
Bipolar Disorder, how frightful it may be
Your destiny my children, how will you see?
Darkness and heart break, a great burden and plight
Follow me my children, I can teach you to fight
Leading you and guiding you, along the bipolar way
Seeing with new eyes, while finding a new and better day
Fighting the bipolar battle, that I continue to fight
I have exposed bipolar’s power, while reducing its might
So do not be ashamed, and do not be afraid
Fighting for you, your right of passage has been paid
Continue the fighting, discovering who you are
You are not your past, you are a shining star
Seeking the faith, that dwells inside
Discovering triumph, with God we abide
We are not the illness, and we are not to blame
We are a priceless creation, made in God’s name
