Rohan's Interests
|
| General | Mathematics. Gardening. The internet. Percolated coffee. Good literature, old and new. Music. Silly hats. Late night walks. Hawaiian shirts. Sleeping. Quality beer. Confused yet? I am... | | Music | Locally: Superengine, The Fault, the City Watch, Bank Holidays, Mr Sandman, Zombie Porn, Panics, Petanque, Institut Polaire, Autumn Isles, Rice, Burgers of Beef, Found: Quantity of Sheep, Kill Devil Hills, Papertrail, Day of the Dead, Dom Mariani and the Majestic Kelp, Mo Wilson and the Drivers, those crazy Borgeouis Bogans, and plenty of others too. Honourable mentions to Blast Furnace, Moriarty, King Wasabi and the Popular Front.
National / overseas: Fauves, Custard, Rocket Science, Talking Heads, The Cure, The Cruel Sea, The Church, Paul Kelly, XTC, New Order, Primal Scream, Pavement, Yo La Tengo, My Bloody Valentine, Dandy Warhols, TISM, Mazzy Star, Bob Marley, Machine Translations, Killjoys, Lucksmiths, Red Sun Band, Stella One Eleven, Rumanastone, and again I could go on and on. And on. | | Movies | I don't have the attention span for a movie that often. The Magdalene Sisters? Pi? 24 Hour Party People? There's the one's I've watched lately that I can think of... recommend me something for the long summer holidays. | | Television | Umm... the ABC news at midday? I wake up about then, y'see. Also Oz, Shameless, Four Corners, Media Watch, The Chaser, The Glass House, Landline and Rage, and I can even be convinced to watch a bit of football or cricket every now and then. I don't watch much commercial telly much, though... it rots your flippin' brain. You do know that, don't you? | | Books | Calculus textbooks, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, English police procedurals, John Birmingham (He Died with a Felafel in his Hand is the bible of sharehousing), the Fremantle Herald on Saturdays... nothing if not broad. | | Heroes | It's an album by David Bowie. Sort of like how denial is a river in Egypt.
Maybe Kerry O'Brien, though... he's OK. |

Rohan's Blurbs |
About me:
Hi, my name's Rohan and I live in a little crooked house in Armadale. I'm something like a cross between a well-dressed hippy, a talented but lazy mathematician, an increasingly jaded political activist and a local music scenester, but most of all just impenetrably strange. I think 'cos' is short for 'cosine', and depise its use as a contraction of 'because'; however, I have great trouble typing the words 'intersting' and 'remeber'. I can be found anywhere there's free food, cheap beer, or good music, and a lot of other places besides. Yes, even your party - I'm the strange guy nobody knows, leaning on a doorframe, drinking your expensive beer and eating your cake. I guess that means I could be anywhere... so watch your back.
Read the blog for more information. Oh, and check out my photobucket - I'm slowly accumulating happy snaps.

Who I'd like to meet:
Girls, I would imagine. The mathematics department at your average university isn't a great place to meet girls... hence the Myspace. Also, anybody who can make me go 'What?' - those people rarely fail to be interesting. Pain in the arse sometimes, but usually interesting. Or maybe the people who control the weather, Transperth, and Centrelink - my three nemeses. I'm sure they take bribes... not that I have anything to give.
