Somes boys never want to grow up. Zach, Charlie and Jeff are three kids from the heart of Michigan who starting playing rocks songs together in High School and have never wanted to stop. The trio made its musical way through several incarnations, and has recorded scores of songs together on several different albums under several different names. The latest is birdgang. Primarily featuring the songwriting talents of Zach Roberts, a talent that falls in the tradition of folk balladeers Woody Guthrie, Ramblin' Jack Elliot and Bob Dylan, with a penchant for new wave rock iconoclasts like Elvis Costello and The Kinks, birdgang doles out sweet melodies and pounding beats for the moody extracts of forelorn hearts.
The rest of line up has been a circulation of friends and outstanding musicians. The current rhythm section is aptly handled by Mark Dawson & Matt Hatch, friends and great players both.
