A Bit about then
Lance and Martin met in 1990 when the former was with south coast indie band the Spoons. Martin was to join as guitarist as the Spoons tried in vain to replace departed main man Phil Joseph but popped out of the studio to buy some fags and the two would not meet again until 2006 at an Ian Brown gig.
The Spoons signed to Adrian Lillywhites Tunnel label and were produced by both Adrian and Steve Lillywhite. Their single Show Me How featured on Radio One and Janice Long's single of the week on GLR selling over 6,000 copies, and their Video Directed by multi award winning diector Walter Stern (Prodigy/Madonna/Verve) and Simon Weitzman receiving extensive play on MTV.
The band split and the Bewley Brothers were born from the carnage. Releasing the single 'Spinning on a Time Bomb' and the Albums 'Songs from the Cypress Tree and 'Baby Six'. Now based in London, the band played with the Kinks, PJ Harvey, Bush, Baby Bird, Dodgy, Tom Robinson, Kirsty McCall etc etc.
Martin had meanwhile played with Dorset legends Rhythm Method, Martin Ansell and Barry Andrews (XTC, League of Gentlemen, Robert Fripp and co-founder of Shriekback).
Lance wrote several songs for the Ch 4 TV series 'High Five'(along with long term friend and collaborator Budge Magraw) Film music credits include Brit Movie 'Out Of Depth' Starring Sean Maguire, Nicholas Ball and Rita Tushingham. A film that won Director Stephen Cranny the Independent Theatrical Feature Films - Suspense/Thriller Award
The Bewley Brothers 'Spinning on a Time Bomb' was chosen for the title track to the cult Brit Movie 'Loop' starring Andy Serkis (Gollum in Lord of the Rings) and Susannah York.
Lance then played solo for a period playing mostly round London. A regular on stage at the 12 Bar Club, Waterats Theatre, 100 Club, Kashmir Klub, Kings Head, Chill Club, Roadhouse etc. Appearing with Jackie Leven, Joe Strummer, Andy White, Imogen Heap and many more. Played live solo dates in China in 2005.
Basha originally played with John Peel favorite and indie chart toppers The Tours before joining Yeovil songstress sensation Polly Harvey and then Bassinger. Basha had played previously with Lance in brief stints with line ups under the name of both Glow and Moon. Basha joined Bird Jaguar in 2007. It is also legend Basha lied about his age to Simon Draper when signing a record deal with EMI whilst under age in first band the Tours.
Eric played with The Vapours (Turning Japaneese) and also Hipster, The Tree Frogs and mod rockers the Curtains. Toured Europe with Barclay James Harvest in the German band Dark Ocean, for whome he has played bass on four studio albums. Eric joined Bird Jaguar on bass in 2007. Also adding harmonies production skills and a spooky likeness to Nick Cave.
