Pré is the Canadian solo electronic music artist Tristen Grant (born August 18, 1987). Pré creates a mix of simple, warm weaving synth melodies, scratchy samples with relaxed beatwork, repeating & shifting endlessly.
The music is about experimenting with recording techniques and sound. Using old tape machines to layer cut-up samples of found sounds over melodies and beats of his own.
His sound is produced using analog equipment, a mixture of electronic and traditional instruments; and the use of distorted samples as well as live and recorded instrumentation; & the layering & blending of these elements.
Hi! It is still dead my friend :/ I plan to record a new song to celebrate my 100th subscriber on Youtube next month, but right now it is impossible due to total collapse of my HW ... How are your recordings doing?
High Pré! Pablo here, reporting in from Inner Space to wish you Happy February & a great 2009! (we interrupt this comment with a brief announcement: Pablo's first new album in 5 years,"Take Two," Is Here & Now! -16 tracks of sugar coated insanity-available on iTunes, CD Baby, etc.) - Stop by my page to hear 4 new songs! God bless!!! P (P.S. the new album is best appreciated on a higher plane....;))
Ok, man, now I seriously love your work :) Very subtle and intelligent, you are really on the way to develop your own style and sound. Take care and let me know, when there are new songs, I want more! :)
Nice work, pal! I really like your approach, I wish I was able to record live instruments, too (especially drums, gosh!). Keep on recording, it gets better and better!
Sounds great, dude. I have to ask, though, did you sample the drums? I heard something really similar in the Autechre track "Autechre Play Weissensee Against Im Gluck (Original Composition by Neu!)"
Just out of curiosity. O_o
Regardless, it sounds great. I like the rather subtle piano in the background. Are you going to be releasing anything soon/is it going to cost money?
