It seemed like just another really great gift from his Grandma Paula: a small, but powerful digital camera (Canon SD 110 Power Shot) to take on his yearly summer trip up to Orcas Island off the coast of Washington State. But when Dillon Wilke picked up that camera and started taking pictures of the very colorful and occasionally remarkable world around him that summer, he discovered he not only had an eye for capturing images, but a passion for the art of chronicling life through the lens of a camera. By that winter he'd compiled enough amazing pictures of his beloved island to create a calendar that became a family treasure; some of his included favorites:

This design I had in mind for a few days before I came up with something that fit the image in my head. I was going for something that parents would buy their baby's or something a little more colorful, and when I went to load it into Cafepress there wasn't a baby section. But I still love the design.
This design was shot in Norco, Cali. It's a dog house but with a bird living in it, with the name right across the top of the house. It was a cool shot and I'm glad the bird didn't fly away.
This was the first design that I decided to draw with a pencil and ruler. I put it on my computer and cleaned it up. Even though the drawing on the front isn't exactly spectacular, the back was the main focal point of this shirt. Even though this design has just been added to the list, I have had this idea in my head since the company started. The design illistrates a brid about the fire one off on the trash can... like every bird would do.
Many people have sent me comments, messages, and emails asking what this design is. Some people even thought it was an evil doll upside down! But it's actually in honor of my dog, Charlie, who recently passed away....it's a picture of his paw. I wanted people to have to think about what it might be because I thought it could create more curiosity.
I always thought this was a funny design: a "burst" shot of a bird "fluffing" its feathers. I thought it would be a fun idea to have on a shirt. This is 1 of the 3 designs I made up in Washington.
This is a design I based on that game where you have to find all of one thing. I took a shot of our old Toyota Land Cruiser and added the birds to the picture afterwards ("find all the birds")! This is also one of the designs I made up in Washington.

The design that started it all. This still remains my favorite. Most people thought I was on a cliff and took the shot from way above. Actually I was chasing the bird off a towel at the beach with my camera ready to go. It took off, and I took the shot. I've loved it ever since.
