Bio
It all started back in 2001. We were tired of sitting by our selves with our gituars, our songs and ideas. We got together to play a couple of songs in a concert held in the local curch in Rena. The concert were held because the famous "Birkebeiner-rennet" started the next day. The concert became such a success that we decided to continue playing, first of all cause it was more fun to play togheter than playing alone. We took the name "Trubadurene" (the Trubadours) but changed it after a while to the name Birken Company. We wanted a name that connected us with our hometown, and since the whole thing started with the "Birkebeiner-concert", we ended up with the name "Birken Company". B/C for short. We started up with 4 guys and a girl, but as time goes, things changes and we are now 4 guys. Often on concerts we invite friends to join as guest-stars which seems to work very well for us. We play mostly cover, but since we also write our own music, more and more of our songs presented on our gigs, are own material. It feels real good playing our own music and getting all the positive responce from the audience. We write songs both in norwegian and in english. We are currently working on a record with norwegian songs, and we are planning another album with "english" songs. But first thing first. B/C plays mostly on Pubs, but we have also had a lot of gigs in different churches...!! also on weddings and "ordinary" parties.. Our first single; "10 000" got very good response and a natural follow-up was a full album. It was was released the 24yh of july and got the name; "...får sjå da vettu...". It's norwegian for; "we'll see". It contained 13 songs all "homemade" and all with norwegian lyrics. -
