Nel corso della loro lunga carriera i Birkin Tree hanno tenuto più di un migliaio di concerti in Italia ed in Europa e sono l'unica formazione italiana - ed una delle pochissime nel mondo - ad esibirsi regolarmente in Irlanda, dove ha tenuto decine di concerti in importanti festival, tra cui Glencolumbkille, Cahersiven, Feakle Festival, Ennis Trad Festival. La radio nazionale irlandese RTE ha registrato per due volte il loro concerto a Dublino. I Birkin Tree hanno partecipato dal vivo a trasmissioni radiofoniche e televisive per RAI 1,RAI 3 , RAI Radio 1, RAI Radio 2, TELE + 3, TMC Telemontecarlo, RTS Svizzera, Telepiù, Radio Capodistria, Radio Popolare di Milano, ed in Irlanda per RTE (la radio nazionale irlandese), Radio Kerry e Radio Clare. La loro musica è stata trasmessa in varie occasionidalle radio di Germania, Francia, Norvegia, Italia, Irlanda, Australia, Stati Uniti, Russia, Stato del Vaticano e Svizzera. La band ha all'attivo tre incisioni discografiche Continental Reel (1996), A Cheap Present (1999), 3(three) (2003) - e decine di compilation. I dischi hanno ottenuto lusinghiere recensioni ed importanti riconoscimenti dalla stampa specializzata europea ed americana.

During his long career the band Birkin Tree has played more than a thousand concerts in Italy and in Europe and is the only Italian band of this kind – and one of the few in the world – who regularly plays in Ireland (three tours, various festival partecipations, recording and broadcasting of their live acts by RTE, Irish National Radio Television). In the last years the band has accompanied during their Italian tours the piper Liam O’Flynn, fiddle players Martin Hayes, Michael Queally, Tola Custy guitar players Dennis Cahill and Graham Dunne, singers Niamh Parsons and Cyril O’Donoghue, accordion players Murty Ryan and Derek Hickey and concertina player Tony O’Connell among others. Birkin Tree has played live in tv and radio programs for Rai 1, Rai 3, Rai Radio1, Rai Radio 2, TELE + 3, TMC, RTS Switzerland, Radio Popolare, and in Ireland for RTE, Radio Kerry and Clare FM. His music has been broadcasted in various occasions by radios from Germany, France, Norway, Italy, Ireland, Australia, USA, Canada, Russia and Switzerland. The band has recorded three cds – Continental Reel (1996), A Cheap Present (1999), 3(three) (2003) – and various compilations. All recording have received outstanding reviews and important awards from European and American folk/world music press: - Continental Reel: best recording 1995/1996 for Folk Bullettin, the most important Italian folk music magazine. - A Cheap Present: ***** review from Musica di Repubblica (the weekly music magazine attached to the most read Italian daily newspaper) - 3(three): - “BRAVO!” award from French folk music magazine Trad Magasin - place n° 6 in the 2003 Top Ten music recordings drawn by German web magazine “Folkworld.de” - **** review from Musica di Repubblica (the weekly music magazine attached to the most read Italian daily newspaper)

Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
devo ammettere che le armonizzazioni prodotte dalla tastiera durante il sound check mi avevano lasciata leggermente perplessa. non sono un'intenditrice di musica irlandese ma tutti quei bassi in movimento e accordi jazzati mi sembravano fuoriluogo. poi ho ascoltato il concerto per intero (Toirano, 29 agosto) dove le introduzioni delicate e bellissime aprivano la strada proprio a quelle armonie un po' inconsuete sulle quali improvvisamente s'innestavano i temi classici irlandesi lasciandomi piacevolmente sorpresa. contaminazione perfettamente riuscita! complimenti a tutti da una savonese esportata in padania (sic!) e ciao Fabio :)
Finalmente è uscito ..... "Que vos lei far" (Che cosa ci vuoi fare), il nuovo lavoro discografico di Lou Tapage, è ora una concreta realtà: l'album (terzo in ordine di tempo dopo Lou Tapage del 2005 e Reve eterne del 2007) sarà disponibile dalla prossima settimana nei negozi di Onde e Rock & Folk a Torino, Muzak a Cuneo e Diapason a Manta; aggiornamenti per ulteriori punti vendita sul sito www.loutapage.com e sullo space www.myspace.com/loutapage).
