On my tunes here on myspace, and indeed all of the tracks on my latest cd "ALL OR NOTHING", all of the Bass and guitar parts were played by myself.
My Good Friends Lee Brown(Guitar) Mark Dellow(Keyboards) and Last but by no means least, the beat behind the Biscuit... Richard (ROCKET) Dellow on all Drums and Percussion, were involved on the "All or nothing" and track My bass playing buddy Trent Morley from Canada played bass with me on "Chasing the fantasy"
I would like to thank all of these Wonderful Guys for their Valued musical Contributions and Friendship. And as an update on (6/10/09), Lee, Rocket and Mark are once again back with me for the next chapter in thye Biscuit story, helping me with my latest project... All will be revealed later my friends.
I would also like to thank.......................................................................
SPECTOR(Bass guitars).....HARTKE (Amplification systems).....EMG( pick ups, BASS MUSICIAN MAGAZINE..... and more recently DEAN MARKLEY(Blue steel strings) You guys are the BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!
Influences
There are so many Influences in Music,so i shall just name just a few of the Bass Guitarists who have left their mark on me....Who knows, maybe my style is made up from a little piece of all of them..I like to think so. So Thankyou you to all of these Guys for making me the bass guitarist that i am today, and making me feel the way I feel about music....Bless you all.
BILLY SHEEHAN....JACO PASTORIUS....JEFF AMENT...MIKE INEZ...PHIL LYNOTT...JOHN MYUNG...MARCUS MILLER...NIKKI SIXX..and so, so many more. And i would also like to mention the Great lead Guitarists.....JEFF HEALEY , GARY MOORE and STEVIE RAY VAUGHN...I Love all you Guys,Peace and Respect to one and all.
I am a Musician influenced by all styles of music, but none more so than Blues,Rock,Jazz and Soul.
I am Driven by the Unique,Quality of SPECTOR BASS guitars and HARTKE BASS Rigs and also EMG Pick ups and ROTOSOUND strings...these guys all contibute to making my sound what it is.
Known as "BISCUIT", i am a self taught bass guitarist of some 20 years now.I play 5 and 6 string Spector bass guitars exclusively, and have used them all with many bands during live and recording work over the years.I am predominantly a "Solo" artist and session player these days and also offer bass tuition. I am an Endorsed by SPECTOR bass guitars, HARTKE bass amplification systems. And to add to this, I am very proud to announce that I have now been approached by Top string manufacturer Dean Markley and now have an endorsement deal where I use "Dean Markley "BLUE STEEL" strings on my basses exclusively.
During the early part of 2009, I was also invited by Jake Kot and Raul Amador at Bass musician magazine, to become part of the staff as an interviewer/writer and have my own column entitled "Rock bass Artist's spotight with BISCUIT"in which I interview the best Rock Bass palyers on the planet.
All of the above recognitions I am very proud of,and to be recognised by the likes of Spector,Hartke and BMM and Dean Markley is very flattering indeed and I thank them all for their friendship and support over the years. I feel that I have achieved much in the world of bass, and music in general but there is still a long way to go yet. I am currently working on material for my second solo album, which is keeping me busy at the moment, and various other projects too, but having said that...If anyone out there should require some "Biscuitised" bass on their work, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I am very much looking forward to making contact with as many of you as possible hear at myspace and also www.bass-musician-mag.com and also facebook...Just look for BISCUIT AND BASS.
(GEAR USED)
I use "SPECTOR" Bass guitars exclusively..and my main weapons these days, are my 5 string Euro LX Custom fretless and a 6 String Euro LX both fitted with two EMG Soapbar pick ups with tone pump circuitry. I am currently in talks with a major string company at the moment, and hope to finalise very soon...News to follow.
I also use "HARTKE" Amplification exclusively also, which includes a HA5500 head and two 4x10 XL cabs.
I also use a Hartke "Bass attack pedal/DI box.
I have also recently entered into an endorsement deal with Mr DEAN MARKLEY and am now very proud to use his "BLUE STEEL" range of bass strings exclusively. I use... BLUE STEEL ML 2679's... gauges .0.30/.0.45/.0.65/.0.80/.105/.128..... Awesome sound indeed.
I use KLOTZ cables, and also for live work,an Audio Technica wireless system.
Over the years i have played Mozart to Metallica..Jazz,Blues Soul,Rock and most in between. If it has bass,i wanna play it,and if it hasn't then i wanna add it.
With regards to my solo efforts,i would best describe my work as "Varied" I can't really be pigeon holed, and i like to constantly suprise the listener every time, ha ha. So be prepared.
Let's just call it a "BISCUITISATION" of bass eh!

Awite Biscuit? How you doin'? This is my old page and I don't check it as often as I should - hence my sporadic replies - Lol! I checked out your stuff, though, via my new page and left my humble respects. I've just completed my blues cd and posted up 10 tunes to tickle the ears. Appreciate if you get time to listen and comment. Hows the family? Hope you're getting the prezzies in order, mate, or you'll be in a major doghouse - that's the voice of experience trust - Lol! Take care now and keep blistering! D
