but I'm afraid I don't update here much.
Myspace is, in my opinion, dead. I just keep my profile up as a remnant of the by-gone age when this place was a community. You're welcome to try adding me, but it might take me a while to get back to you. I'm more active on the other sites linked below...
I make music by myself and also with a band called ely. I also write words, and make silly pictures and videos. I think a lot, and dream as much or more.
Here's one of the silly videos I've made; it's far from perfect, but I'm a lazy git and it was my first stab at editing in Final Cut...
I like:
Long political and philosophical conversations, which sprawl all over the place, never achieving anything but feeling somehow vital; short, simple exchanges, "cup of tea?" "please", effortless comfortable communication; pretty music; pretentious (and/or un-selfconscious, depending on your viewpoint) film; new things in old places; old things in new places; not feeling too ashamed of being a bit up my own behind, sometimes; dreaming, all day long; tea on a sleepy day; coffee on a busy day; lunchtime trips to art galleries; snatched moments of contemplation; taoism; love at first (fleeting and last) sight; spending time with old friends; a pint of bitter.
I don't like:
People who think that just because setting the world to rights doesn't change anything, it's not worth doing; unreasonable people; my bank.
I used to have a donate button here, but no one donated and then it broke. I'm not sure if there was a cause/effect relationship in there, but it seemed a bit like begging anyway. If you'd like to support my music, you can buy digital downloads on thesixtyone (link above), and in the not-too-distant future, there'll be an online store for actual physical CDs (how archaic!) on my blog at mrbishmusic.com - so bookmark that site and keep checking back.
