Sometimes we don't understand why we go through certain things in our lives. But every trial we face and every challenge we overcome in life only helps to make us that much stronger as a person. Life is like a patchwork quilt, you have to sew the pieces together to discover the beautiful design it holds. Our past is only a part of who we are but it's up to us whether we stay stuck in it or use the experiences we went through as something positive to reach out to others and give back to them for life is not only about where we want to get and how successful we wish to be but it is also about taking the time to give back to others along the way.

It is amazing what a difference we can make when we work together towards the same goals in life and how much we achieve when we unite together and join hand in hand to help others out there. The only way we can ever hope to see change take place in this world is if we work together to save lives and reach out to others. As Abraham Lincoln once said, "United we stand, divided we fall." We must stand together and maintain peace among one another if we wish to see results from changes we are working hard to make happen.

on the road in life you can't drive too fast or you'll miss the important signs and directions leading you to the destination where you should be. Too many times we miss those signs because we get so caught up in drama and so caught up in trying to impress people. Time flies by and if we don't slow down to enjoy life, then before we know it, we'll find ourselves looking back on so many things, wondering where the years went and why we didn't accomplish the goals we set for ourselves. Life is about taking each day one step at a time; it's not about rushing. It isn't about worrying about what we don't have but being content and happy with those simple pleasures, those hidden treasures in our lives that make it worth living and it's about appreciating those in our lives who do little things to help us out and are there for us when we need them the most. It's about finding beauty in the things people often take for granted and it's about looking around and finding ways in which we can bring about a positive change and difference in this world as we touch the lives of those around us by simply just being ourselves.

Every once in awhile in life, our paths cross unexpectedly with those special angels that we call friends. They show us the true meaning of life and give us a glimpse into our own souls as they open our eyes to the real beauty we have inside us. They give us the faith to continue on through the hard times in life and they take those broken pieces of our hearts and put them back together with their loving, encouraging words that can heal the scars we bear. The greatest gift that our friends give us is the gift of love and just knowing that someone out there cares about us, is thinking about us and praying for us, that someone out there believes in us and accepts us for who we are, who supports us in all we do and who cries with us in the bad times and laughs with us in the good times, that is what makes all the difference in the world.

Nothing in life is perfect so if you keep looking for perfection in everything you'll miss out on the things in life that really matter. Too many times we miss out on the simple things in life because we're too busy trying to be perfect in everything we do and trying to find perfection in everything around us. It's when we are always attempting to live up to everyone's expectations for our life and when we are so busy trying to compete with everyone else around us that we lose focus on the important matters at hand and we begin to lose sight of ourselves. Real love and real happiness consists of seeing the beauty beneath the surface and making the most out of what you all ready have. Be true, be real, but most of all, be you!
