   About Bitchfork

In 2003 Bitchfork was conceived as a joke band comprised of over 10 members. A short improv demo was recorded onto a Fisher Price tape deck complete with ranting, blasting drums (Jesse Anderson at the time), random guitar riffs, trumpet solos, samples of german language lessons and xylophone tapes resulting only with laughter. In early 2006 3 remaining members decided to revive the project and give it an actual direction. Jesse Lewis (Bass, now vocals), Tim Vaillancourt (Guitar, now drums) and Carl Mallany (Guitar) enlisted the services of Justin Funk (Bass) and Adam Mienicki (Guitar) to fill the hole Tim and Jesse made when moving to drum and vocal duties. A year of song writing, practicing and live shows ensued, spreading the new and serious word of the fork to an unsuspecting scene. In late 2006 keyboardist John Maydonik was added to the line up to emphasize the bands strong melodies and to make an even bigger sound. The band, by this point had developed a defined and unique blend of melodic death metal with influences of black metal, power metal, jazz and rock, taking influence from metal groups such as Dark Tranquillity, Opeth, Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, At the Gates and In Flames. Each member of Bitchfork comes from varied musical backgrounds and influences, bringing a unique and interesting sound to the group.

We are currently completing our demo 5-track CD which will be out in Summer of 2007 hopefully. We can play any shows that come our way, e-mail contact@bitchfork.net!

Bitchfork

Thanks for the add.

Just wanted to know if you are aware of any tours going on in British Columbia.

Bye the way, we have some decent resources for music distribution, gig promotion and music press releases.

Message me if you think we can help.

We are currently very confused as to what we are doing. The lineup change is a very confusing process for a group if indecisive stoners who are torn between maintaining what's already there or expanding on it. One thing is certain, a name change. more news to come
Arcanium

Nov 27 2007 10:38 PM

There is a lineup change going on. Justin is not and has not been doing bass for us for months, sorry that we are too lazy to update this stuff. Also, Jesse Lewis has proved the biggest dissapointment since Kiss came back for yet another farewell tour. We are currently accepting applications for auditions for vocals and bass guitar.

I think some special announcements are in order, don't you? Bitchfork will be gracing the stage once more, this time for profit, *crowd of people scream "SELLOUTS!!!"* at evolution november 8th (yes, that's a thursday) We also play thebig fernwood november 11th. More unconfirmed shows to be announced, if we aren't too fucking lazy to announce them *glares*

Oct 10 2007 6:06 AM

Thank you for finally changing that. I guess you weren't down with me using my stage name. haha. Too bad, I am. lol, what now? huh? what now!?
Arcanium

Sep 29 2007 6:14 PM

Actually,I was debating, for the sake of the name already being known, just using my stage name on our sites and stuff. It's the same as the mywaste name.

Sep 26 2007 8:44 PM

Oh yeah, Tim, could you please correct the spelling of my name on the side there? I"m not a John, I'm a Jon...it's really starting to agitate me. I just found out they did the same thing to me in the phonebook. ARGH! Telus is going to get an ovverreaction of a heated message, that's for certain.
