Many bands claim to be unique, original and fresh…sadly, very few tend to live up to the hype. B.I.T.E has had no choice but to do just that since it was formed back in 1999. Similar to U2’s way of starting the band, the 3 original band members, (Roman on guitar, Tom on drums and Adam on bass/vocals), picked up their respective instruments and learned (and earned) their skills the hard way. Through years of hard work, failure and discouragement, the band had formed a rare, yet unique, sound that was much needed on the stale New Jersey scene, and are still expanding and growing to this very moment. While the band has had several line-up changes, the three main core members remain the heart and soul of the music. Recently, the guys have decided to include violin in their song writing process, taking their style to a yet another level. Over the years, B.I.T.E has done a lot on its own, and prides itself on accomplishing more as an independent act than most bands have reached while being signed to a major record label. In 2003 and 2004, the band has completed two headlining U.S. Tours all on their own, going through every single state and playing over 50 shows in a 2 month span. Locally, the guys have opened up for a number of national acts, as well as international acts, including getting the opening slot for Polish legends Armia on their 2003 U.S Tour. In 2002 the band released its 1st album via Dreamscape Records, but has since parted ways with the indie label. With the release of the record, “No Direction”, the band received a number of amazing feedbacks from around the world; including positive reviews, interviews and radio play. Luckily, radio play is not the only way of catching attention. Since 2001, a trilogy of music videos for songs ‘Somewhere”, “Follow” and “Free Woman” have been released through the web, college TV and DVD sales. Today, the band has compiled over a dozen of new songs for their sophomore release; there is also a 4th music video in the works. The band is extremely excited to get back into the studio, complete the album and do what they do best: play live shows! The yet to be titled album is expected to be out in the fall of 2007, but to get the band in its best form, try to catch B.I.T.E at a show live.
