If you aren't yet ready to become a vegetarian to help save the environment, at least cut meat from your diet one day per week! Join in making your Mondays meatless!
Heroes
.. Congressman Dennis Kucinich! In my humble opinion Kucinich is the most ethical person to have ever sought the U.S. presidency.
With a newly elected President, we may finally get the chance to change the direction of the United States Supreme Court. Visit my newest page, Committee for the Court, and help us convince President Obama to appoint Harvard Constitutional Law Professor Laurence H. Tribe to the first available vacancy on the Court!
My name is Roland Windsor Vincent. I'm an attorney and an envronmental and animal rights activist. In conjunction with the Farm Animal Reform Movement (FARM), we have set up this page to expose the disastrous effects of animal agriculture and the animal slaughter industries on the environment in general, and on global warming in particular.
We've named this site "Bite Global Warming" to emphasize the fact that you can impact climate change by changing your diet. Each time you don't take a bite of meat you are helping the environment, each time you take a bite of a cruelty free meal you are reducing carbon emissions.
The current political rhetoric among candidates for office, environmental leaders and a growing segment of the general public suggests that politicians may attempt a "quick fix" for global warming that focuses solely on Big Oil and Big Coal, ignoring the substantial contribution of the animal agriculture industry in producing greenhouse gasses. According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, cattle alone produce more greenhouse gasses than do automobiles! (See my Blog).
In fact, animal agriculture causes more greenhouse gas emissions (18%) than does the entire transportation sector (14%) which includes cars, trucks, buses, railroads, ships and airplanes!
We believe that any proposed solutions should be universal in scope and address all sources of greenhouse gas emissions.
Whether you are a vegan, a vegetarian or an omnivore, this page is for you. You can help stop global warming by taking action to place animal agriculture on the public's radar! We all have to examine our lifestyles in light of the science that demonstrates we are killing the Earth!
One of the most effective things you can do to reduce your carbon footprint is to reduce your intake of meat! Eliminating meat one day a week is the equivalent of cutting your gasoline consumption by 14%!

For 30 years, Jan Haagensen has been harassed and her farm in PA invaded with impunity by hunters, and her NO HUNTING signs and fences repeatedly torn down. 10 years ago, she had had enough, and approached the trespassing hunters to ask them to leave, and asked a hunter engaged in illegal hunting to cease and desist. When a hunter threatened to shoot her and her mother, she called police, which sided chummily with the hunters, and later charged her with 5 counts of "hunter harassment". The "kangaroo court" convicted her on all 5 counts. Being an attorney, she appealed to the appellate court and won, and is now challenging the PA Hunter Harassment Statute in federal court as being unconstitutional for inhibiting free speech and violating property rights. If she wins, doors will be open for challenging the equally unconstitutional Hunter Harassment laws of other states.
Jan will be Anthony Marr's guest on Animal Voices this Friday, July 3, 3-4pm-ET/12-1pm-PT, online live at www.CoOpRadio.org. If you missed it, go to www.myspace.com/AnthonyMarr where the interviews are archived. Call-in hotline 1-604-684-7561.
