"Crossing the border from the Twin Cities, The Bitter Roots are far from bitter sounding. They provide a mellow, yet upbeat jam band-ish tone that is both unique and utterly entertaining." Volume One, Eau Claire, WI

Bitter Roots Liz Reed @ The Contented Cow
After a few transplants the Bitter Roots have risen from the fertile ground of the midwest. An evening of clanking bottles a smoke filled room and a song was finally written. From that song came the band and from that band comes these glorious sounds that is our music.
Sweet - I just saddled the horses, fill up your canteens and lets rendezvous
by the giant redwoods, I've got a buddy who runs a stillhouse just over the
third hill who can set us up with some refreshments.
Be careful of the sorceress when you ride past the cave near the man on the silver mountain. If she pursues you just shapeshift into a snake and go for her ankles.
If you reach the edge of the desert before me, look for a big rock that's
shaped like shark's fin. Knock on it 3 times and trap door will appear
that leads down into a root cellar filled with cold IPA and there's a
stereo down there with some killer Dead bootlegs from 71, 74, and 77. If
it rains, even better.

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
