Bittersweet, because life is.....

Welcome to our webpage. A clubnight and record label. A banging party atmosphere where you can let rip on the dance floor to the funkiest dirty house and electro, or chill and chat in the bar to a vintage blend of roots, world music, funk & electronica. Born out of a love for music, having a top night with mates, and then some... join us on our journey, the quest for the new sound. Perhaps you too will find your door to kukundoo?

Who we are:

Dirt Revolver:Camped out in a studio in east london, currently into all things electro. A mixture of minimal to tough electrohouse, with a liking for a breakbeat. Deep, funky, electronic! Studio setup around a mac using Ableton live and Logic Pro. Club DJ experience includes Ministry of Sound, Gardening Club, and plenty a free party. Various projects involving various artists forthcoming for release next year Via Media Promotion Service. Interest is welcome for future projects. Also available for independent production, including acoustic and guitar influenced styles. Psychedelic folk to tech funk, the Ying and the Yang.

Cardiac: DJing in East London since 1998, having spun at major hotspots including Fabric, Turnmills, and 333 club. His collective hosted Mooch rooms at www.Hoxtonpimps.com clubnights, performing mammouth 6-hour DJ sets at these underground parties, alongside the likes of Attica Blues, Fat Truckers, Roots Manuva. 1999: Drum and Bass DJ set at 200% Tripaller infekt, Dresden Germany. 2001: Promoter of regular clubnight Mooch at Bar Cocomo, co-promoter of various other DJ nights in bars around East London. 2005: DJ set alongside Radioactive Man at Shifty@ on the Rocks, London. www.shifty.org.uk for details. Cardiac started producing tunes at the tender age of 12, creating multi-track style recordings of his cheap casio keyboard using two tape recorders. Later on came sampling using a special alarm clock, and making tape loops from cassettes. The second phase consisted of simple loop-based music made with a Yamaha QY70, leading to the current phase of music-making, based around laptop computer. 2005: Chief commander track played at Burntprogress @ Plastic People, London, to critical acclaim. Back in UK now after a year in NZ and Australia, his recent track Week Impression (2007) went down a storm at Burntprogress "Week Impression: Dubstep! And serious dubstep at that. Cardiac have been reaching for a few sessions now...deep bass smacked us square in the gut. Cardiac you have bare skills in the bottom octave".

Gigi D'Amico A producer and sound engineer, born in Catania, Sicily. He started his music carer working on various local radio stations, and then moved into clubs (Genesi Portorosa-Me) where he experienced several years as an innovative DJ. He spread his wings and moved into technical experience founding the 'Magna Studio Sound', a well known rehearsal studio in Catania, where David Grabs prepared his performance for the show at Istituto d'Arte in Catania. In 1995 he began his sound engineer course at Centro Professione Musica (CPM), while working as a sound engineer touring Sicily in support of international artists, including Tom Harrel, Tonino Horta, Rickie Lee Jones, Gloria Gaynor, Temptation, Blonde Redhead, Warmers, and Uzeda. Over the years he has written and performed music (Beatle Juice, Somersault). In 2003 D'Amico moved to London where he completed in 2007, at Westminster University, BA (hons.) Commercial Music. Check his record label DRKL rec. for his current release on "The Future Sound of Sicily". Working for Dented Records (Foreign Beggars), Gigi also produces music for the media, and short movies. A true all rounder, a producer, a DJ, an engineer & musician.

Jane Dinmore: DJing since at school, a teenage taste for dancing at rare groove & funk clubs and hip hop parties lent to vinyl hoarding and DJing. At Art College Jane was the resident DJ supporting mostly Acid Jazz bands that were doing the rounds in the early 90’s. Hanging around with performance artists and creative types lend to MOONA, anti club parties with vintage up tempo music & arty cabaret. Jane has played funk to post punk, to rockabilly, to house, decades of soul and hip hop for b-boys and indie rockers. Wild Hammond organ & trumpet instrumentals are always a MOONA set list favourite.

Jordan Rivera is back this time with legendary UK singer Spoonface (faada.co.uk). The voice of Number one selling Black Legend and club anthem 'Hey Girl'. Black Legend's "You See the Trouble with Me" reached #1 in the UK Singles Chart selling several million worldwide.
Many recognise Spoonface's contribution to the sound of Ukfunky with the classic dancefloor hit 'Hey Girl' With a host of collaborations from Drum and Bass maestro High Contrast to Reggae Legend Janet Kay, his current efforts have kept him at the top of the club charts with tracks like Wunna Be (Christain Marchi remix) and Here For You (Time srl).
This track is called 'Keep on Holding'. It's an inspirational house record aiming to provide some upliftment in these 'crazy time's'.
Remixes by Jesse Voorn (Dance4Life), Firebeatz (Spinnin/Big&Dirty), John Jacobsen & Anzwer (Pacha Ibiza Residents) Nino Anthony (Portamento/Subliminal), TYNY & Jeremus (Full Throttle Rec.), Amir Barbell (FSM), Jodee Kitch (FSM) and Norty Cotto (Naughty Boy Music/Henry Street Music) Have already become a triumphant hit on myspace!"

Antiworld, Q Club & HOMmega Productions Present:

Astrix & Friends 004 The Tour

Fri 30 Jan 2009 @ Q2 Birmingham

Sat 31 Jan 2009 @ indigo2 @ the 02 London

www.astrix andfriends .co. uk

Photobucket

Astrix returns to the UK for his most ambitious tour yet. On Fri 30 January he makes his debut at Bgham’s Q Club alongside local legend Sabretooth, who’ll be launching his new album, and Dejavoo live. Then on the Sat he’s following in the footsteps of dance music greats Tiesto, Paul van Dyk and Infected, taking on one of the world’s top venues, the o2’s incredible Indigo. As well as playing a live set of upfront tracks from his forthcoming third album ‘Red Means Distortion’ — and of course all the classic tracks that have kept him in the DJ Magazine Top 50 for the third year running — he’ll be launching new digital EP ‘One Step Ahead’, a limited edition multi-media production available on USB stick only. He’ll also be bringing along HOMmega label mates X-noiZe, Krunch and Delirious, who’ll be joined by the Antiworld residents. With X-noiZe and Krunch launching their new albums ‘Wheel of Misfortune’ and ‘Booster’, this promises to be one of THE psy trance events of 2009. The credit crunch is hitting everyone hard and we know you want to party more than ever… so we’re keeping advance ticket prices as low as we can. As our New Year’s present to our loyal fans, all advance tickets are being kept to just £20 (London)/£12 (Bgham) and capacity restricted to 1200 (London)/600 (Bgham). But be warned — at the time of going to press almost half of the tickets for o2 were sold out already!!!

See you all there!

Peace & Love

Happy 2009!!!
