I am 22 yrs old currently living in Los Angeles Ca. where I was born and raised. At an early I became an active member in my church, St.John Inst. Missionary Baptist where my grandfather Rev. Lucious Jackson is pastor. During this time I was active in the church youth choir and jr. usher board. By fourth grade I joined after school program called to kid2kid where I became a tutor and mentor to my fellow classmates. Also during this time in my young life I ran for my schools election for the office of jr. student body vice president event though I didn’t win the election I was appointed to the office of class secretary. Also during my early youth I continued to do work in my church. In the year 1996,1997, & 1998 my church honored me when I asked to be acting youth pastor for our youth day services. In 1998 I stepped down from my position as a jr.usher board member to make more time as an active member in the Sanctuary Choir. While at John Muir Middle School I was an active member of the hockey team. In the 2000 championship game I scored the final and winning goal leading my team to victory. My time at John Muir saw me become a faithful and dedicated member of the teen council at John Muir public library. And in my spare time I was enrolled in karate class that I took up until 2000. At my time of departure from the class I was a yellow belt. In 2000 I graduated from John Muir Middle School and entered Manual Arts Sr. High School. I started the year by becoming a member of the student senate I would hold my senate throughout all four years at Manual. During my 9th grade year I discovered a passion for dance. I auditioned and won a role in the school production of Guys and Dolls as a dancer. Being a dancer lead I to become a member of the school cheerleading squad. During my time as a cheerleader I got the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas and Hawaii and win First Place in the Co-ed categories becoming the NDA/NCA, Southwest division clinic, International Spirit Championships, LAUSD, etc, 1st Place Champion. My time at Manual Arts I was more than a cheerleader. I was captain of the boy’s tennis team for the 2002-2003 school year. Member of the schools student senate for all four years. Participated in the students run LA program where I ran marathons on many different social causes as Cancer awareness and HIV/AIDS awareness. A member of QYECA that focused on LGBT issues in the African-American/Hispanic youth communities. As advocate for LGBT issues I was I was out speaking on tolerance and acceptance for everyone. Being involved in QYECA introduced me to APLA (aids project LA) an organization educating and promoting safe sex. Never forgetting my Christian roots I was an active member of our school bible club. I became 2004 home coming prince and voted class of 2004 most spirited. I even had time to be in the play Westside Story. And Somehow In my spare time 3 times a week I was an after school mentor for disabled and mentally challenged students in my 11th grade year. Post high school life in 2004 I worked to help democratic candidate Sen. John Kerry elected president of the United States. Unfortunately Sen. Kerry lost the election to John Kerry but I do feel that my voice was heard. That time was also spent in fundraising money for the DNC, PETA, and HRC. In 2005 I was touched by my role Jessica Simpson and I got involved with operation smile and I still contribute and spread the world about this awesome charity “ I believe that every child deserves to smile”. Currently I am working with several non-profit organizations such as HRC (the human rights campaign), APLA (aids project la), Operation smile, Save Darfur, and United Kids Inc. Still an active member of my church as and a active choir member, jr. deacon, and member of the praise team. I just accepted a postion with progress now.
