This year explodes with the fresh talent of vocal duo B-Kay & Kazz. The brothers who have gone from strength to strength, conquering the African music scene to finally astounding the European music industry with their unique style of Soulful Reggae; a fusion of R & B and dancehall.
Since the boys were just little lads aged 3 & 7, touring from state to state & country to country their ambition has never faltered… Their ultimate goal to take the international music industry by storm and aspire to the acclaim of their musical inspirations, such as Akon, Otis & the great Tuku, is but moments away. B-Kay & Kazz started their careers in Southern Africa back in early 2006. “Hard work, determination, wise words from their dad,” are just a few of the lyrics from their biographical track “Muziq Drive” that reflects the boys ongoing climb to their goal. Their talent ranging from not just singing or beat-boxing, but right down to songwriting and producing, encompasses their mastery of the intricacies of the music industry as a whole.
The boys who learnt how to play guitar and sing a “right rhythm” at such a tender age culminated their talent into an instant hit when their single “Ndikati Hello” was released in Southern Africa. This track went straight to number one on MTV Base South Africa with their video receiving international accolades. Their album “In the Beginning” did extremely well but the boys were ambitious and they wanted more… they wanted to take the world by storm…
2007 saw B-Kay & Kazz enter the national talent show Live & Unsigned UK where after auditioning against 10,000 talented singers the boys made it through every level of the different stages to finally be crowned the ultimate winners of the competition. What followed was recognition in the UK followed by the successful release of their next self-penned single “You Know its Right”. Within 1 week of the singles' release B-Kay & Kazz made it into the UK Top 30 hits and their video was rated top ten in Channel U's music charts. Their success with this single saw them opening shows for the Music Industry's
top entertainers such as Day 26, Sean Kingston, Omarion and the great Ne-Yo himself.
“Crazy Baby” is their next single which is to be released in the summer of 2009 and there is every indication that this fantastic track with its amazing vocals, captivating lyrics & fabulous rhythm will make it into the UK's Top Ten Music Charts. “Boomslang” is the brand that B-Kay & Kazz head in their project to encourage talented singers and dancers towards their goals. Their collaborations reflect this brand so look out for the famed “Boomslang in a de place”
