Undaground Tha Illest's Debut Instrumental Album, "Soon Is So Far Away".
Influences
Purple Kool Aid, Bruh Man's Sammiches, Cheap Thai Liquor, 70s Low Budget Porn, and Some Green Friends I Met From Roswell That Won't Stop Visiting Me At Night. Gotta give it up to Bangkok, Thailand (Home son) where all this crazy shit started...DJ QUIK, DJ SHADOW, AND J DILLA CHANGED MY LIFE.
Sounds Like
"An orchestra playing at a house party, with Sade in a drunken stupor singing lead vocals so beautifully offkey." Thanks baby.
Undaground Tha Illest aka U.N.D.A is an up and coming rapper/producer/DJ/sound designer/filmmaker that was born in New Jersey, but raised in Pattaya/Bangkok, Thailand. His unique style and abstract worldly production brings new flavor to the music community, influenced by traveling, basic imagination, and real life. At age 17, U.N.D.A. released a self produced, written, and engineered album that he cut in his room titled, "Rappin' Unda Tha Influence". He began battling around Bangkok, doing shows at clubs and bars around the city. Undaground Tha Illest made his first public appearance with the Thai pop star Lydia on the song "Ter Som Kuan Don", being featured on her debut album titled, "Lydia". After graduating high school at the International School of Bangkok, he went to further pursue his passion by (currently) attending the Savannah College of Arts in Design in Savannah, Georgia(majoring in Sound Design, with a minor in Film and Television). In 2006, Unda was featured in the magazine, Music Connection Magazine with a great review. In 2007 Unda was featured in the Thai magazine, Big Chilli with a 3 page article.
In the fall of 2008, Undaground Tha Illest and his brother Juan ‘Don’ Carter, officially started their international art entertainment label, titled Generation Me-X Entertainment based in Atlanta, Georgia. Generation Me-X pushes the boundaries of creativity to new levels, and represents the collaboration of artists worldwide to create innovative works of various mediums (sound, music, film, fashion, photography, graphic design). The first Generation Me-X release is Unda’s debut album titled, "Soon Is So Far Away", which is a project with no genre classification. It is simply a cloudy journey through the mind of Undaground Tha Illest, a soul sonic trip that will leave you comfortably lost in the unknown. The Thailand version (limited edition) of the album was released at the Dream Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on June 20th, 2009, at Unda's release party/fashion show titled, "YEAR OF DREAMS".
