My background is playing in various bands around the UK from the age of 16 - 27. I wanted to make a career from a band, but unfortunately for me I never found the right people who would give up everything to get somewhere. Or maybe me and my bands were just rubbish! I realised running my own business in the music industry was far more appealing than sitting in a corporate office. So here we are! Just remember this - Nothing falls into your lap in music, no matter how good you are. It’s HARD graft all the way.
Neil Hayes. The Right Hand Man.
Unlike Shane I can't play an instrument, write a song & I certainly can't sing. I do have an outstanding passion for music and love to hear new and exciting bands/artists. I've been to venues all over the country to gigs for most of the biggest names in the business. I know my music and can distinguish between the great from the good, the good from the mediocre and the mediocre to the downright shit. Nothing generates feelings and emotions in the same way music can and we are looking for bands/artists that have the ability, passion and desire to succeed. I have been working in London for 6 years in the financial sector & yes it is boring! Life is too short & I would rather spend my remaining years doing something that I LOVE.
Just remember this – Mine’s a pint.
James Day. The Wordsmith.
I’m the new Black & White spin doctor who’ll be looking after press, PR and the general massaging of anyone’s ego able to give our bands, nights or company positive and unrivalled media coverage. A journalist for 10 years, I cut my teeth supplying national newspapers with breaking stories ranging from samurai sword murders to Ulrika Jonsson’s bedroom gymnastics with Sven. I spent a year helping turn ZOO into the biggest selling men’s weekly on the planet, freelanced for Heat, Star, Metro and Nuts. Then I was Senior Writer and Reviews Editor on Look. Now Editor of In-focus at London Metro! My true love is music and the opportunity to immerse myself at the ground roots level of the industry was too inspiring to ignore. I’ll listen to anything and everything and if it sounds good I’ll champion it, plain and simple.
Just remember this – “The press are mad for it, we're mad for it. I love being in the press. I love pissing people off, me. I love pissing meself off.”
Liam Gallagher
