Black April is an Alternative Rock band based out of Orange County, Southern
California. We share a Vietnamese heritage although we are quite American. We
are not a political band. Our name was chosen to honor the sacrifices of our
parents, the innocent victims of war, and the heroes who had fought and lost
their lives to ensure our chance at freedom.
On April 30, 1975 the government of the Republic of Vietnam surrendered to
the Communist Regime of North Vietnam after almost 20 years of war. This dark
time in history spawned a mass exodus... and is known to the refugees of South
Vietnam as Black April.
