All the bands that we all individually love can't be listed here. In general if it has great melodies and awesome riffage then it will have influenced us in some way.

Proper Metal, imagine Metallica and Maiden falling down the stairs and landing on Dream Theater - you're almost there!!
Black Atom are Aberdeen's premier progressive widdly epic uplifting metal outfit, and have been voted Aberdeen's best metal band at the local music awards six years running. In this time they have also won several awards for Best Live Act, Best Fudge Performance and Best Band. They rock hard, and have supported many well-known and established acts such as Thin Lizzy, Breed 77 and Blaze Bayley (ex-Iron Maiden) to name but a few. They are quite simply untouchable. Gigs have been scaled down over the last year or so, as the band have been working on their latest project, a gargantuan 21-minute song about an Antarctic misadventure. Plans are afoot to record this soon. We will keep you posted! Their 2002 EP Out Of Exile gained cult local status, and full-length album The Tie That Binds also sold well, and is still available from www.fathippyrecords.co.uk. Buy it!
