With their energetic performance and catchy melodies, the Amsterdam-based Black Bandit and their reckless roll tears down the house at every gig.
Riffs that bring to mind Lemonheads and Eagles of Death Metal are played with more than a pinch of grunge and classic rock, and the comparison with a rougher, rollier Beatles sound has been made.
2006 was an immediate kick-off succes for Black Bandit!
The first songs were recorded, followed with a running score of live-shows and acoustic radio-performances.
Black Bandit was also chosen to be the face of the SNS-banking concern in their nationwide campaign, which was used for festivals such as Lowlands.
In 2007 the demo for “Shimmery Lane”was pressed, which garnered widespread appreciation and respect for this young band.
Black Bandit secured a steady spot at Amsterdam Pub “The Waterhole”, located in the busy and demanding city center, and a wide variety of performances showcased the band's many talents.
In 2008 their long awaited debut album “Reckless Roll”was recorded in the Ijland Studios, by Remko Schouten, who has worked with bands such as Pavement, and Bettie Serveert. Lots of copies are floating around in Holland and further.
