The Black Bear Bar and Grill was built in 1947. It's full log construction holds alot of atmosphere and character, one of the few left in the Northwoods today. Its clean cozy setting along Shisabagama creek is known for it's homeade pizza, italian beef, charbroiled burgers and much more, also voted 1 for best food in Bar and Grill category from Taste of the Northwoods 2009!
The outside patio which holds seating of 50 people along with the swing set makes it an excellant place to bring the family for a casual dining experience. The inside holds a seating for 40 people and 17 bar stools, where you can look at the many wildlife mounts including the state record full body mount black bear.
The Black Bear is also known for it's venue of live music. Mostly Blues bands, but maybe a classic rock band ocassionaly. We will be the only bar with live entertainment every weekend in the Northwoods.
Don't forget about the Minocqua Blues Fest! It is always the last weekend in July starting on Thursday and ending on Saturday night with 3 bands, one each night starting at 9pm. This is our 7th year, and is a special fest with table seating, cocktail waitresses and a full liquor bar. We hold 300 people for a quaint up close experience withy each band.

As a patron and a fan of this bar,I always have a great time at this establishment. Dane and the staff exude great hospitality and the blues bands that play there are awesome. The black bear bar is the entertainment of The Northwoods!

You gonna make me do this again??? OK, here goes... We'll be doin' the Black Bear Boogie on Feb. 7th! We'll have "Smokin Joe" on bass, "3rd Degree" on keys, "Slim" on harp, and Cleatus working the bar! What more could a blues hound ask for!? It'll be a blast and a half!!!
