Turn on, tune in, drop out... Bombay in India, Black Bombaim in the desert. Jack Daniel's empty bottle on stage. This is the set. The band everyone tries to find a lead singer. "Everyone"... are those who don't free themselves from the musical boundaries and don't understand the concept of an instrumental band. This is the band that possesses a unique vision that no one seems to understand and with the kind of music that, in Portugal, few are the ones who do it, and fewer, the ones who executed it this way. This is whatr makes them different: from thge common bands we see so often out there. But back to the point... No one knows where this is gonna get and if there will be a tomorrow. If the acidity will keep going or if a bass line will lead the way through a path loosely swung at the bottom of the bottom. This is what pleases me, this kind of unpredictability in a band. Where the next step can be an Earthless-like elliptic drone; or a guitar rip Atomic Bitchwax style; or even an atmospheric guitar wandering on a celestial space of Comets on Fire, where there's chaos and explosion effects that are yet to happen. This is what pleases me, to find out where the limits of sound are. This is what so many San Francisco bands are doing for years, and it's in them - in part - that this one inspires itself. All this scene of psychedelic rock that is gaining international underground attention as each day goes by. It's this more actual side that merges with the past present of stoner-rock. This is the first structure in the sound dissection of Black Bombaim... a jam session between two short stories. From the weight of a black hole such as "Big Black Supercharge" to the sound eclipse of "Fear & Loathing", everything is relevant to the consequence that each note will sustain until it's weight echoes on us. It's a psychedelic labyrinth that keeps turning to the same starting point. It's the acid trip we all want. Turn on, tune in, drop out... Ilídio Marques

Bombaim na Índia , Black Bombaim no deserto. A garrafa de Jack Daniels, já vazia, no palco.
É este o cenário. É esta a banda a que todos tentam arranjar um vocalista. «Todos»...são aqueles que não libertam as fronteiras da música e não assimilam o conceito de banda instrumental. É esta a banda que possui uma visão própria que ninguém pretende entender e com a sonoridade que actualmente, em Portugal, poucos serão os que a fazem e poucos foram os que a executaram desta forma. É nisto que são diferentes: do comum das bandas que vemos com frequência por aí. Mas passemos ao que realmente interessa...
Ninguém sabe aonde isto vai parar e se haverá amanhã. Se a acidez estará mais presente ou se uma linha de baixo tomará as lides de um caminho descontraídamente embalado ao fundo do fundo. É isto que me agrada, a imprevisibilidade de bandas como esta.
Onde o próximo passo pode ser um drone elíptico de Earthless; ou um rasgo de guitarra de uns Atomic Bitchwax; ou ainda uma guitarra atmosférica a divagar pelo espaço celeste de uns Comets On Fire; onde há caos e efeito de uma explosão que ainda não aconteceu. É isto que me agrada, procurar saber onde ficam os limites de uma sonoridade. É isto que uma data de bandas de San Francisco faz há anos, é nelas que esta - em parte - se inspira. Em toda uma cena de rock psicadélico que ganha as atenções do underground internacional a cada dia que passa. É este lado mais actual que se junta aqui com o passado presente do stoner-rock. É esta a primeira estrutura na dissecação sonora dos Black Bomb.. uma jam-session entre duas curtas histórias.
Do peso de um buraco negro como “Big Black Supercharge” ao eclipse sonoro de “Fear&Loathing”, tudo vai relevante à consequência que cada nota será prolongada até o seu peso ecoar em nós. A guitarra, que anteriormente aclamávamos, de “Your Sister Morphine Won’t Get You Home” passa despercebida à grandiosidade do tema que é “Blow, Vanish 2”, em que se demonstra aos Karma To Burn de “28” a fórmula perfeita: os pormenores, por mais sujos e secundários que sejam ou simplesmente pareçam, nunca deixarão de ser a essência deste tipo de temas.
“Complication (Amplify, Defy, Mistify, Deny)” não nasce de forma instantânea, embora a espontaneidade esteja sempre por lá. É um labirinto psicadélico que volta sempre ao mesmo ponto de partida. É a trip de ácidos desejada.
