Black Candy Store

“Arno and Julien, the founding members of the alternative rock band Black Candy Store grew up in southern France and started to play music together in high school. This was the time when the radios where all about the Seattle sound. The duo played in several cover bands together in the early days and ended up in the late nineties in heavier/fusion stuff.

After six years of tours, opening for bands like The Gathering, F.F.F, Ron Thal and two albums released, they wanted to go back to their musical roots. Then began the writing of new material of which some will be featured on the forthcoming album.

The name Black Candy Store came during the recording of the first demo in October 2008. The band was finally completed with bassist Marc Bravin and drummer Floris Moscato, and they recorded their first album during ten days in August 2009. Against all odds, the band opted for a very raw and punchy production like most of their influences.

Back To The Wall was released in Europe on the German label 7hard in april 2009 and entirely produced by the band. The mastering of the album was entrusted to Dave Collins who has worked with well known bands like Linkin Park, Soundgarden, Ben Harper... The result is an album which is a link between past and modern rock, with emotional vocals and distinctive guitars, inspired by the impact of their life experiences to create their own unique sound. The album was given excellent reviews and interviews in England, Sweden, France, United Kingdom, Greece and Germany. Then followed a bunch of concerts in France, Luxemburg, Tunisia, and a tour in England. They also had the chance to play acoustic showcases and in several radios.

The band is currently working on new material and hopes to break new grounds as their music evolves to higher artistic levels. They want to be able to connect with the world and feed off the growing energy of the people who have come to love their vision of rock at the beginning of the decade.

The story goes on...
