Bio
Guitarist, Don Dunham and drummer, Steven Smak, were in the band y2K for five or six years performing all over the Los Angeles area and releasing the album, The Millenium Bug. Things change, people change, times change and the band broke up around 2002. Don met Seabass at a Labor Day swimming party and barbeque of another musician friend and former band mate of his, Denny Gerard (of the famous Neil Young Tribute Band The Neil Deal). Don heard Seabass jamming on some lyrics at the party, went up to him and said, "We have to talk." They got together with Steve within a few days and realized it all clicked. Here was a singer that could growl and grind out the hardest Metal they could throw at him but also sing a ballad as pretty as anyone. They searched for the right bass player for over a year, finally discovering Dave Rock in their own backyard (literally). He was Steve's neighbor! The band all started rehearsing in Don's new recording/rehearsal studio in Sunland, California where in late 2006 they began working on their first album project as Black Cat. Working with such local audio industry notables as Jay Rando, John Taylor and Rick Luxenberg, the new album Black Cat rocked hard enough to rumble the walls and reverberated around the world and the web via My Space and all the band's new friends! With the Christmas Season and the coming New Year of 2011, so came changes. Dave Rok would no longer be in the band but, with shows already booked, Don's long time friend Vic Herstein stepped in to "hold down the fort". A second album is in the works with all new songs. The band is focused on getting it released in 2011, placing their songs in movies and TV and building up their fan base. It's gonna be busy year! 2011 has been another year of change with the coming and going of Bert Wolf as the band's drummer. Currently Black Cat is looking for someone to fill the important job holding down the beat and controlling the insanity. One's thing's for sure, when they find him, they'll know it! Black Cat's lyrics, written (so far) primarily by Don Dunham, cover many topics ranging from love, the loss of personal privacy, the old west, political corruption and environmental pollution. The thing is, you'll be listening to the lyrics thinking they're about one topic and then later realize that, on another level, they're really about something else. It can really mess with you. ..Download our music at DigStation.com.... .......... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... ..www.Heather Harris.net.. ...... ...... ...... ..www.Maryke.com.. ...... ...... ...... ...... ..www.Maryke.com.. ...... ...... ..www.Maryke.com.. ...... -
