I have participated in musical pursuits of one kind or another since age 8, including children's chorus and picking up any musical toy I could get my hands on. Played trumpet in grade school where I participated in the county concert band and solo events. I picked up my first guitar in elementary school, played off and on until about 16 when I started playing regularly.
Awarded Composer of the Year by the Virginia Organization of Composers and Lyricists (VOCAL) for 2006. Performed in two Don Warner Music 'Hot Licks' competitions in the 90's. No awards, but great experiences.
I am now serving my second term as VOCAL's Activities Director and I also served as VOCAL's Vice President for two years.
I perform solo and with other bands. I was a member of several bands over the years, performing covers and original material. I now focus primarily on writing and performing my own songs.

Who I'd like to meet:
People who really enjoy music. They like to talk about it, they really listen to it when they go to a show (no matter how small the venue) and/or they play an instrument.And it wouldn't hurt if they'd come to see me play once in a while!

For listening, I have usually leaned towards hard rock and contemporary blues, although I've expanded into classical and jazz. When composing, I usually create music that would be classified as blues/rock, but I don't intend on sticking to one style.Movies

Anyone who creates with their minds and/or hands - musicians, chefs, carpenters, artists, furniture builders, etc.To name a few musicians: Randy Rhoads - truly a musician, always refining his skills; Steve Vai - amazing ability with the sensibilities to know how to apply it; Joe Satriani - uses incredible talent to recreate familiar rock and blues sounds, as well as creating completely new sounds.
