BlackEyed Dempseys ™ are Rebel Irish music!
We set out to take the love for Irish music, turn up the volume and give it a stiff kick up the arse.
Forming in 2008 BlackEyed Dempseys ™ have already gathered a following in San Francisco and have gone from the garage to the studio.
We are working on a six song CD that we hope to have ready for you soon. The CD represents the first version of BlackEyed Dempseys ™. The songs you hear on our playlist listed as from the garage represent that fine group. Lead Vocals were handled by Mike McCarrick and Pete Barker. Mike also played acoustic guitar on five of the six tracks. Pete handled the bass on all six tunes and James Wilson contributed Mandolin and tin whistle throughout the disc. All three of these men lent their voices to the background vocals. Times change and all of these fine musicians have gone on to different projects. The current line up of BlackEyed Dempseys wishes them all the best and we thank them for all their effort!
We draw our sound from the heartbeat of freedom loving men and women everywhere. We are the echo of the brave men and women that came before us! Time moves us forward but never forget the shoulders you stand on.
Ní uasal aon uasal ach sinne bheith íseal: Éirímis.
The great appear great because we are on our knees: Let us rise!
Tiocfaidh ár lá,

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this folk-carol on myspace... Poem 230 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my blog for details): CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY
As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith's the star that we glance Attending Christ's churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.
