About BLACK GUNS

Every once in a while a band comes along that embodies the spirit of Australian rock music. Black Guns is one of those bands. Blistering loud guitars, gutsy riffs and a thundering rhythm section pumping out foot stamping, good time tunes in a hail of sweat soaked energy. A gang of larrikins with a no bullshit attitude, they're not here to re-invent the wheel or pose for your camera they're here to continue the irrepressible musical force that is rock'n'roll.

Hailing from the mean streets of Melbourne the boys have travelled the country slaying audiences far and wide with their energetic live show and rugged charm. They've shared the stage with the cream of Aussie rock including Rose Tattoo, The Angels, The Screaming Jets, The Celibate Rifles, Airbourne and countless others. They've released two successful EP's, appeared at some of Australia's best known festivals and venues and had there music featured across the world on movies and television. With a killer new EP about to come out and their debut album slated for release later this year 2008 is shaping up to be "The Year of The Guns".

Black Guns are primed and ready to fire their salvo of Oz rock riffs into the ears and hearts of punters nationwide. Get ready to be rocked!!

Ten tracks of unadulterated Glampunk Electro madness! It’s unleashed on Thursday 29th of October at Bar Open on Brunswick St. It’s Bowie on steroids; it’s Marquis de Sade and Andy Warhol screaming at the moon through a home-made vocoder. The Lollyshop is open for business ! It’s going to be a huge night filled with bubble machines, strobes, psychedelic video projections and cautionary tales to tell your grandchildren. It will also feature live performances from those vixens of burlesque “the Venus Man Traps”. Support on the night comes from psych-popsters Go-Go Sapien serving up synth-infected garage with lashings of ravenous big sexy guitars. Make sure you get down early to catch the debut performance by newcomers Tusk. And most importantly we have kept the entry fee down to a very affordable – FREE !
