Basic Rules of Indoor Football
Field:
50 yards long by 28 yards wide.
End zones shall be a minimum of 5 2/3 yards deep and not more than 8 yards deep.
Goal Posts are 9' high from base to cross bar and 9' wide.
Players and Formations:
Eight players on the field per team at one time.
21-man active rosters.
Two players may be in motion at the same time from behind the line of scrimmage.
Only one player can blitz at a time.
Defensive Lineman must line up on the nose or shaded on the inside shoulder of the offensive lineman.
Game Timing:
Four 15-minute quarters.
Clock only stops for incomplete passes and out of bounds during the final two minutes of the second and fourth quarters.
90 second time out at the end of each half.
Scoring:
Six points for a touchdown.
One point for a PAT kick, two points for a run or pass conversion.
Two points for a defensive conversion following a touchdown.
Two points for safety.
Rouge - One point for the kicking team on kickoffs if the receiving team does not advance the ball out of the end zone.
Three points for a field goal by placement, four points for a drop kick field goal.
Kicking:
No Punting Allowed.
Kickoffs are from the goal line. If the kickoff goes out of the opposing team's end zone, the ball is placed on the 20 yard line.
Overtime Rules
Each team will get two possessions from the 25 yard line to try and score. If one team out scores the other on the first possession, the game is over. If still tied after the second possession, then there will be a 15-minute sudden death overtime with a kickoff.
